I have along with others, we have decided to stop spending money on DDO Contant, and buying items form the DDO store. The Un-godly down times have caused people to be pissed off..Please change your down time ways or you may lose a whole lot of people meaning long time players

TL/DR version: Bye Felicia.

Players complain about bugs, system performance and other game issues.
SSG has scheduled downtimes to update the game and fix bugs and address performance issues..
SSG publishes said downtimes.
Players complain about downtimes.

Seriously, get a life. Touch grass. Feel the sun on your face. Meet actual people face to face and have a conversation. This should not be a 24/7 obsession.

Complaints about excessive downtime that is getting worse by the week with zero observed benefit is now equivalent to 24/7 obsession.

It is a wonder how anyone breathes with their heads buried so deeply in the sand. This attitude of telling people to just deal with it has worked out great for DDO. Keep circling the drain, boys.

Gosh thanks for letting us know. I woke up this morning and wondered to myself "I wonder if Staybear and his pals are gonna spend money on DDO?" I will no longer lose sleep pondering this important question.

i have a much easier time accepting a long down time than a typical down time with multiple unscheduled extensions...but thats just me; def not trying to speak for anyone else or the game community as a whole
Good point. Much more annoying to have it extended multiple times. I hope whatever they are doing is of some actual benefit that we just can't see.

I will not participate sorry. The extended down times are required to improve game quality. I support this effort.

If only I actually saw some improvement, I would support it, too.
Likely not going to happen with one or two upgrades, unless the extended downtime went multiple days, which I would think would be more of an uproar. The servers are old, and likely neglected, since MMOs do not normally have a shelf life of DDO. I suspect into to fix things or update other things, firmware needs updated first, before further improvements to game quality can be made.

I admire your optimism, but based on previous results in this area, I don't share it.

I've got as absolutely no issue with SSG taking as much downtime as is needed to fix stuff.

I would though, like to see some palpable benefits as a result - that is more my issue. ?
This sir, is a fair ask. Downtime usually results in compensation from most games. Freebies make the downtime palpable. Or at least let us know hey we are doing x so that we can do y and then z and even though improvements wont be seen until z is made, x and y need to be done first.

Or even a poll to say this is what needs and we need 40hrs of downtime to schedule this work, multiple days of extended or over the course of 3 months, or 1 heavily extended downtime?

Unscheduled down time is bad. If the scheduled downtime is there to improve security, consistency, reliability, performance, etc... I am inclined to say take your time (within reason!) I would rather lose a portion of a day mid week then lose a whole weekend. It sucks for those who have the time today to play, but that's the cards that are being dealt. Put on your big-boy manties (yeah... google that one) & get on with life. ?

I think everyone understands the whys of downtime. I do think people are frustrated though, and justifiably in my view, that these times appear to be getting longer but people aren't seeing any observable benefits. It would be one thing if the lag was clearing up. If anything, it seems to be getting worse.
