Numbers to aim for in a nuker build

I constantly hear things like, "endgame casters can delete entire rooms with one spell" and I want to try doing that. I have a level cap toon with a +8 universal tome that I never use and a +20 heart that I don't need for anything else, so I might LR and switch it to a nuker build. Not sure what class/build exactly, but my main question is, how high do I need my stats to be to approach the mythical "oneshot everything" level at endgame? Like how much spellpower do I need? How high should my crit chance be? How big should my crit multiplier be? What should my save DC's look like?

The nearest comparison I have is my EK build (very much not a nuker) with ~940 acid spellpower and 32% crit chance, which definitely does not oneshot tons of mobs at endgame.

Here's the only number you care about - DCs. Get your spell DCs up. You should be able to hold everyone in the room (huge contributor to your damage tbh, also it makes you 100 trillion% more viable if you can actually prevent monsters from killing you in high reaper).

Then, you can pump crit chance / crit damage. And spell power. Pretty much all in that order.

When you are talking about mobs - spellpower and DC is very important, but only part of the equation.

You multiply your damage significantly by making mobs helpless from a distance with enlarge and then stacking helpless damage on top of your base damage. But being good at killing trash mobs is kind of like being a great punter in football. It's appreciated, but not valued, because groups generally don't have any issues killing trash mobs.

Most of the advice in the thread is good. R10 one shots post the repeated caster nerf will be hard to impossible, but 2-shotting is possible with good stats, good debuffs, and helplessness on high damage spells (e.g. double multivial).

In terms of actual targets, a maxed pure nuker build will hit around 75-90 crit chance (depending on build-multi classed cold Druid is highest, most fire builds are around 80, fire has the best aoe and dripping with magma) 105-115 crit damage, and 1250-1450 char sheet spell power (depending on build and degree of investment) before regalia, metamagics, wellspring, temp bursts, etc., but after reaper and pots.

For comparison, that’s approximately four times the spell damage of your EK.

What I'm asking is what number I need to hit.

Damn, I had no idea crit chance could get into the 75-90 range. I mostly just whack mobs with imbue dice, so my crit chance is neglected.

feels like it takes a few runs through a class to get the feel of what works best. These guys with 1300 spell power and 75+ crit chance probably didn't get that their first run through their character class. Knowing every aspect of their trees and equipment is a learning experience, as every player probably realizes from the classes they have played before.
