OFFICIAL: Character Builder Lite

Inspire Excellence is now called Inspiration Melody: Excellence and requires 12 bard instead of 15.

Fixed the level, but not the name (for now). All the Bardic Inspiration abilities are still named Inspire [THING] in this builder and all references everywhere to those abilities use the old names. I don't want to mess anything else up, so we will leave them as is for the time being. I am sure everyone can figure out what is what when using their builds to make the character in game.

Thanks for the quick fix. Buuuut.... I just noticed that the builder version of inspire excellence *also* requires inspire heroics. Which you get at bard 15 :). I just edited my version to get rid of that line.

Doh! Sorry I missed that the first time. I deleted that requirement from the uploaded version as well.

Somehow inspire excellence snuck back in as requiring lvl 15 and inspire heroics. Should be bard/stormsinger 12, perform 20, lvl 21, no feat requirement.

Ug. Sorry, that happens sometimes. Usually when I get an update in too closely to the publishing of a new builder version. I have fixed this back to what it should be.

Feat.txt

Unfortunately, now the Builder throws an error on start up:

Code:
Error.log

1 Errors:

FeatMap.txt: Feat not found: Inspire Excellence

What's odd is that my FeatMap.txt file does have Inspire Excellence:

Inspire Excellence Epic: Inspire Excellence Inspire Excellence

Just caught that myself. FeatMap.txt is REALLY old code for something as it mentions Ron's Builder, which was THE go-to builder back in the day. This one was built off of that one as a simplified version. I have no idea what it does, but I updated the Feat names in this and now we no longer get the error.

@ChicagoChris Just noticed an issue with the Parent/Siblings code in selectors. From the ReadMe.txt...

"Parent:
Exclusive selector. Points to the Ability that has the root selector list. The opposite of
Shared, abilities can only choose selectors that have NOT already been chosen, like Shintao
Elemental Curatives.

Siblings:
List of abilities that have a mutually exclusive selector list. Consider Shintao Curatives.
Tier 1 is the root list, and won't mention anything about shared/parent/whatever.
Tier 2 will have Parent listed as Tier 1, with no siblings. Tier 3 will point to 1 as
parent, and 2 as sibling. And finally, Tier 4 will have 1 as parent, and the siblings list
will point to 2 and 3."

Currently, anything after the original Parent is not checking limitations...

For example, look at Archmage: Efficient Metamagic. If you select Efficient Metamagic: Enlarge for the first option and do not have the Metamagic Feat, it sets it as red with an error message (like it should). However, if you don't have Feats for the second or third "unlocked" options and take them, you do not get the Error.

Likewise, the "Siblings:" tag doesn't seam to be doing anything at all anymore. Whatever you select from the original Parent is removed from your second list of options (again, as it should), but anything after that (Siblings 2, 3, etc) will offer that same second list no matter what you pick for the second option. So in the above Archmage example, you can take Quicken for your 2nd AND 3rd option currently in the builder.

Not the end of the world for issues (as you can just be aware of it and select the correct things) but obviously not working as intended so wanted to make this note. Thanks!

perfect thf, unlike the other perfect weapon style feats, should not require any other thf feats

the lvl 31+ spell specialty ED feats shouldn't have an anti-requisite, they just require any of the *other* epic spell focus feats (eg esf necro allows any specialty other than necro)

Perfect THF - an easy fix. I removed the prereq.

Spell Specialty - They still sort of have an anti-req, as you can only take the specialty in a school you do not have the EPIC spell focus in, so I made that the new anti-req. Tested and looks like that is working as intended now.

I have not tested it personally, but I've been told that if you have 2 epic spell focus feats (eg necro and ench) you can take the same spell specialty feats (necro and ench again), as the only pre-reqs of each is that you have at least one epic spell focus *other* than that specialty (eg necro sees you have ench, and ench sees you have necro).

I will have to see if I have a character that is high enough in levels to repec and try this to verify.

In the meantime I will see if there is some way I can make the system check for this. Otherwise we will just need to turn off the safe guards and people will need to remember they cannot take Necro if Necro is the only Epic Spell Focus they have.

Hey everyone, I will be updating the txt docs for the builder with all the changes today and tomorrow and will be posting them here. They will likely give you errors if you try to use them though, as @ChicagoChris will still need to change the code for the new archetype. Just wanted to give you all the heads up.

Okay, since I got a head start on this last week during the previews it didn't take me nearly as long as I thought it would.

I have five updated files (see below). If you try to use these right now you will get an error (Missing Class: Dragon Disciple). That is because the new Dragon Disciple will not exist in the code for the current builder until @ChicagoChris can add it. In the meantime, you should still be able to use these to make a new Monk, should you wish.

To get more accurate info I made a monk on Live and copied all the text, costs, etc. from there (I never fully trust the release notes). As always, if you see anything that is wrong please let me know and I will fix it asap, though please note that there were many things either missing or just wrong in the release notes vs what is actually on Live right now.

Anyway, here are the updated files:

Classes.txt
Destinies.txt
Enhancements.txt
Feats.txt
Spells.txt

Happy building, all!

The spell 'rend the soul' should be on the sorc and wiz spell lists at lvl 9.

BAB in the feat selection screen seems to jump to 25 at lvl 21 regardless of your BAB before then, and climbs up to 31-34 by lvl 34. It should increase by 1 at every odd epic level (21-29), with a max of 25.

I fixed Rend not showing in those two, plus also in the Wild Mage list. Thanks for the catch!

As for the BAB issue, I think that is more of an internal coding thing, and so @ChicagoChris will need to take a look at that. All I could find for BAB was the initial increases that come with each class.

Not sure if this change will make it into the current build that ChicagoChris is working on, but either way here is the updated file.

Just an FYI, I run Malwarebytes Browser Guard which quarantined the 4.9.0 builder EXE. I reverted to the prior version with no issues. I assume there is a sequence in the builder code that resembles something dangerous. I'm not looking for a solution and I assume the problem may disappear with the next version of the builder.
