OK, this is probably daft but.....

.....here goes. I am trying to plan ahead and multiclass this time, hopefully into a reasonable build. I have usually played pure characters to date (!) as I have a great talent for screwing Multi class up. So here goes: Dark Hunter/Barb/Fighter. Thinking to get the twf from DH, Uncanny dodge (and some Rawr fun) from barb, and some extra feats from Ftr + second wind. I had thought that a minimum of 6 lvls of DH for t5 in tempest and then a min of 4 barb for Ud and then levels of ftr for feats.

Yes , I know this is fairly nebulous , but I would rather take some time and get it right (ish) than make a pigs ear of it. Please help. Thank you in advance.

Peace out. Pard.

Do you really need more feats as a ranger?
I'd go 8 barb 12 DH, STR based.
T5 in Berserker for +2 crit multi (33 AP), 4th core in DwS for +1 crit range (24 AP), 9 in Tempest for Haste & +10% offhand.
Remaining AP probably in Occult Slayer for 3 cores & Arcane Encumbrance. But Ravager or DH also possible.
For leveling, longswords + Knight's Training.
Nightforge Blades into Drow Weaponmaster ones or Oathblades (if you have the UMD)
WWA + Quick Cutter is enough AoE to skip DoD

You can get uncanny dodge with rogue at level 4 instead of the barbarian level 6. That would free up 2 levels for fighter that gives you another fighter bonus feat. Also, you can do pretty good with just the standard 2 weapon fighting with 2 levels of dark hunter, and take the perfect 2 weapon epic feat if you plan on going through epic and legendary. Otherwise, yeah go for the level 6 dark hunter for the greater 2 weapon.

Also, 4 levels of rogue with your dark hunter would give you better lock and search stats

It would be good to plan out your character in one of the builders and save the file, in case you have to LR, ER, or do a feat swap with Fred to fix something, that way you know exactly what you took at what level. (I've done things both this way and also by writing down a build in a spiral notebook I keep at my desk, but to each their own.)

According to the Sept. 19th Fridays at Four, Cordovan said there will be a Lamannia in October, though not specifically what date. If you can wait you can always build a toon there and see if there are any issues before trying it on live.

The problem with multiclassing a Tempest is you really want the tier-5s. It's hard to beat the combo of Dual Perfection + Thousand Cuts + Dance of Death. By comparison, the rest of Tempest is fairly blah IMO; frankly if you're not going T5 Tempest, is it even worth bothering with the tree? That's going to restrict what you do with your remaining levels. Maybe try DEX-based Dark Hunter 12 / rogue 8 with 40 Tempest / 24 Deepwood Stalker / 14 Horizon Walker, trading the last two Tempest cores for Evasion, extra sneak attacks, and Improved Uncanny Dodge.

BUT nobody said a ranger has to be a dual-wielder. So it gets a bit more interesting if you go for multiclassed THF or SWF build: e.g., Dragonlord 8 / ranger 12 with T5 DLord + DWS level 12 core gives you +2 crit multiplier +1 crit range. Can sub barbarian for Dragonlord if you prefer Improved Uncanny Dodge and/or extra Strikethrough from Frenzied Berserker.

Barbs get UD @4 and IUD @8 just like Rogs and GTWF is auto granted @11 for DH. Unless by "greater" you meant "better" as in free ITWF. 12 DH, 8 Barb with T5 Ravenger for Blood Str and Crit range is Beastmode. All cleave attacks are slow with TWF but hitting multiple targets makes up for it in those situations.

Thanks all, this is great, I am so glad that i asked. Not quite ready to ITR yet but this will certainly help me to plan properly ......for a change.
