I just want to know why my mage can't teleport to any new locations. I've been playing for a while, and it doesn't look like they'll be updating the spell. It should be simple. The same goes for the Greater Teleport spell. Some locations like the Feywild, Isle of the Dread, Sharn, Myth Drannor, Eveningstar, Sorrowdusk Isle, and Saltmarsh aren't listed.

¿Do you know of anything else old that's worse now?

The teleport spell only gives you access to stuff in ebberon i think. Can't use it to teleport to places the gatekeepers teleport you to.
You would need to have bought an expansion pack for that specific expansion, sharn, feywild, dread, myth drannor etc.
There is one exception and that is eveningstar. If you have enough favor you should get a key to the city that can teleport you there.
Eveningstar is forgotten realms.

Teleporting to region specific quests depending on your location as long as you completed those quests would be pretty OP.

Part of the draw of the Collector's Editions is the teleporter option that comes with it.
You'd immensely devalue those if you made something similar available for platinum.
For places that don't have that (you named Sorrowdusk), sure. Do the thing.

Simply because those locations have an item that teleports you to them if you purchase it with the expansion pack.

Same reason the main teleport portals dont go to these locations, they purposely make it a slog to get to these areas to encourage you to spend for the convenience.

You have two choices in response to that design, you can either spend for the convenience or you can take ever second of your life waisted slogging thru that inconvenience and strengthen your mettle to not spend because of the life sucking time sink.

Gatekeepers Grove is a nice location to get to lots of places you cant teleport.
