Orien Exchange Library now on Shadowdale..

Old Curiosity Shop (OCS) had decided to launch the Orien Exchange Library in March 2024 from donations from OCS guildies. As word got out, tomes were donated from many fellow players on the Orien server. Through that, literally dozens of players ranging from newer players through to veterans have availed themselves of this service to the community.

Q) Is the name going to change?​

A) No, it was started on Orien, and it’ll remain as the OEL (plus rolls off better than SEL), in memory of our origins. Also with it being in operation for over a year, a lot of people know it as that, from across the servers.​

Q) Is it attributed under a guild name eg: Orien Exchange Library, etc?​

A) No. While I do have the names registered (Orien Exchange Library & Shadowdale Exchange Library) and hidden away on support accounts, the OEL is literally here – done via the forum. It’s more of a concept than the names of guilds as it were.​

Q) How do you store the tomes?​

A) The storage of the library does come with a requisite, in that tomes, don’t stack. So to that end, airships were sought for its storage. I sourced many inactive guilds that have become part of the library fleet; and my thanks to KC, of which her gift has become the flagship of the library support fleet.​

So to that end, here are our available tomes. In order to participate, you will need a tome of equal level to trade for another tome of equal level. These aren’t being ‘sold or traded’ for mats, shards, plat, goodwill, ‘a virtual handshake', etc.

For example, Player A has a +3 Upgrade Tome of Skill (Spot +2 to +3) and wants a +3 Upgrade Tome of Skill (Listen +2 to +3), that’s fine – the trade can take place. Anything outside of this, is declined. The same if someone wants a +1 to +2 upgrade for Strength, and has a +1 to +2 upgrade for Charisma.

All trades will be done face to face, and never over DDOMail. No exceptions.
