Pet equipment level vs warlock splash

For equipment, you need base pet class + epic/legendary level. So, to equip Lamordia/MD/IoD docents on my iron defender, I cannot really splash warlock into my pet build.

Pretty niche build, but does anyone have suggestions on if it is better to do the 4 or 5 splash of warlock for the ES enhancements, since we can get to lvl 29 docent equips now being level 34. Or is it better to stay pure Artificer so you can equip the higher level docents?

On a side note, it would be nice to see a higher level pet collar. I think Feywild was the last one put out.

It is absolutely not worth splashing Warlock for summon buffs. It is also not worth it to take the augment summons feats.

ML10 Ravenloft gear has augment summons, as well as the ML28 Feywild augment that drops like candy. The ML10 and 29 Ravenloft Pet armors are nice for the -400 unconscious range. At level 23 you can take the Primal Shared Mantle and Natural shielding, makes pets and hires kinda tanky, and they actually do some damage with the mantle procs. Last time I ran druid, all of the on-hit procs for collars were broken, as well as all augment slots on armor/collars. Any handwrap can be converted to a collar, though good luck finding ones that actually do anything useful. The collars are treated as items rather than weapons, so the only useful ones have stuff like speed/doublestrike/etc. Also, ML24 Tarlov Snowtrack is kinda decent with the shared mantle, as is Teal at 30+.

At this point, if they don't want to or cannot fix the new augment slots to work on these, then just add 2 more effects to them.

With 2 Augment Slots on most gear now, just put Sheltering and Resistance on all Docents and Accuracy and Deadly on Collars.

Then you can put whatever else for effects on them.

It's not works such way unfortunately, almost all augments slotted into modern colored aug slots bugged while equipped on pets and don't provide any bonuses at all.

There's pretty much nothing you can do via gear to improve your pet. Here are a couple things that work:
  • Get a different pet: LGS Ooze, T5 Primal, Dino Trinket, WW Neck
  • Use Primal Shared Mantle
  • Use Primal T3 Natural Shielding
With 2 Augment Slots on most gear now, just put Sheltering and Resistance on all Docents and Accuracy and Deadly on Collars.
Augments from gear do not apply to pets. The only stats that apply are stats on the gear itself. I'm pretty sure the stats you craft into CC gear will apply, but none of what you can craft onto armor or wraps/collars helps much.

My druid runs in primal for the free SP and a full herd of oozes and hires does help a little bit. I run it R6 solo and the hires get fairly beat up, but oozes are both endless and immortal. With shared mantle, they hit 3x for 5k in a 5s window. They get a couple kills now and then.

I was thinking of removing those augment slots and just putting static abilities that 'could' be slotted into the augments. Not actual Augments in the broken slots.

CC armor can only have CON and a few other things of little use. CC wraps have no accuracy, only deadly, haste, and double. It's not enough to matter even a little bit. Even with the perfect RNG items, Pet won't do useful damage and will die nearly instantly.

The only way I've found to make them work is if YOU are the tank and they have primal shared mantle for doing teeny tiny damage. My guess is if you stood and intimidated, they might get a kill on trash after 10m without the mantle. With mantle it's about one kill every other proc.

I just play mine on Elite or maybe R1. I play a caster Arti with 100% threat reduction and then run with the defender and 5 hirelings. They do ok for that level of difficulty. Not the quickest by any means but still fun to play. Now, I have all the stuff for hirelings, feats/gear/filigree, so they are pretty beefy compared to norm.
