You don't have to play 'em...
NO kobolds.....
Pro tip: If you're going to use a reference from 90's (1992), it might be wise to make sure you're using it correctly.Dislike that certain players can only be subtractive about our genuine enthusiasm though
As a matter of fact, no!Aren't they considered vermin?
Hey, I love them just as much as you, and I would break my 15+ free-to-play-since-day-one streak if they started selling them, but I'm pretty sure that, in-world, a lot of people do think of them as vermin. The only difference being that they're sentient. Even in real life, there are a few hoity toity people who look on other humans as vermin, so people in-world thinking of them as vermin isn't as much of a stretch as it should be.As a matter of fact, no!
Yes, they're vermin; they compete for the same ecological niche as the Giant Rat. They're incredibly invasive. Giant Rats are ubiquitous in most MMOs, but are endangered in DDO entirely because some dev's pet Kobold escaped into the sewers.Aren't they considered vermin? Like, Darwin's Rats?
Not saying it wouldn't be cool to play a weird bug but there's two problems there, one: they're not from Eberron (which wasn't a problem for Tabaxi or Dragonborn but I digress) and the animations and armor would be several times more difficult for the devs than just adding kobolds who are from Eberron and have plenty of player friendly lore via Keith Baker, a point that none of the haters have attempted to address because they only want to throw eggs, not hatch them.Thri-Kreen would be preferrable to me over Kobold.
That would be beautiful. *sniffles* I hope I get to see that happen in a campaign sometime. With a sky full of smoke that smells distinctly like a melange of dozens of homes smoldering, I look up at a starless night sky and think how much improved my experience would be if I could play a little kobold who had never seen a star, and gets to on Korthos.
