They're a rigging/animation/texturing challenge, imagine all the visual bugs that occur every time a new mount or race gets added to DDO but the race has but mutiply the problems because now the physical form is very different.

WoW gets away with it because they baked vastly different body shapes in very early on and made their tech do that but even they had a bunch of limits on what they'd do - see Dracthyr not being able to wear armour outside of the character creation options.

I would vote for Grassy Gnolls before Kobolds, especially if they get a pipe for blowing smoke rings.
