Playable Kobolds?

Yuck. I prefer the future where I play a Kobold Thrower -- not a Kobold that tosses darts, but a PDK that hurls exploding Kobolds.

You kinda can if you use a Sentient Jewel of the Kobold in The Immortal Sun Flask.

The entire reason I made a ranged character was to kill kobolds. And, I gave her a Kobold gem, so when it says "Tell me we not hunting Kobolds in sewers again!", she can reply "What a wonderful idea!"

I take back my disdain for Kobold as a player race.

Made a gnome sorc, dressed him up in the lizardman cosmetic from SM and am happily annoying my group Yarking my way thru quests with lightning spells.
