Playing any other games during downtime?

I never actually stated that i received any bans and if I did ever receive a ban for anything in this game, I most certainly would never discuss it in public because as you know discussing a ban you received would be 100% against forum guidelines and is a ban able offence.
No worries. I'll talk about mine so you don't have to.

I was playing some Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Owlcat's RPGs are pretty huge so while on summer hols is the best time really, it's much like Civilization for me in that whole "whoops, now it's 1am, sleeping should really have been happening an hour ago" thing.

BG1? You really like to flower sniff!
Baldur's gate 3. I played BG1 when it came out. I think I did all the things, like all the things. Waited for the harpers and zhents to fight, then rescued dynaheir with edwin and minsc in party, then finding edwin again (he reappears in the original, not in the EE) and waiting until they fight, then waiting until shaar teel kills the bard. Viconia to kill ajantis. I never got Faldon to fight Jaheira though. Killed Drizzt, got vampiric blade. Ranger cleric (21 wisdom!) with staff of striking dual class was the best for bg1 but then I played again to make a thief to transfer to bg2. Baldur's gate 2 was even worse!

I play very few games but when I do I try to do everything.

Its probably an unpopular opinion but. I love lots about BG3 but it did feel like a slog to get through, to the point where I stopped playing. I should/shall give it another go. It also seemed to be forcing me into 'romance' scenes. One minute Gale is showing me pretty magical lights the next hes trying to get his hand down my manly trousers. Why does my dialogue "I would like to see the magic" lead to that. Maybe its a known euphamism in the lands around Baldurs Gate?

There's probably a mod so everyones not ramming the 'romance' down my throat (as it were).

Act 3 especially is just over-stuffed, to the point that I thought there could have been an Act 4. Act 1 and 2 aren't that bad though, but Act 3 gets to be a straight slog if you try to clear up all the companion quests and side stuff.

Gale is definitely desperate, dude hasn't been touched since his gf kicked him to the curb. IIRC one of the patches even toned him down a bit, and he's still almost always going for it no matter what you do. Among the reasons why I prefer pretty much everyone else being in party, even Wyll who has Vanilla Midget Kevin Nash levels of personality. Though it is funny to have Gale and Minthara in the group together.

Act 3 is literally the starting zone of an MMO only you're level 10-11 and oneshotting everything. Still fun but every time I enter lower city I get demotivated and start a new campaign. I have literally 970+ hours, 46/54 achievements and I haven't finished the game yet lol

Gale's "problem" is his romance dialogue triggers very very early from things happening the grove same with La'ezel who is the fastest romance. So you have to put him down fast so his camp cutscenes don't overtake the actual cutscenes you want to trigger.

Do you think thats why they keep slowing down everything in DDO, to make it more suited for a demographic versus actually making it have some sort of skill. I just feel like DDO keeps getting closer and closer to a turn based system or 3.5 pen and paper, i mean i believe a combat turn was equal to 6 seconds and i believe a melee could move and attack once in that 6 seconds. Certainly our attack speeds for early level characters are still faster than that but it is a video game version, how much slower can they make it?

DDO is definitely not turn-based. Melee combat is a wild sequence of moves and attacks that can take you from one side of the battle to the other in about a second.

Typically I am angling into the enemy as they move toward me and a quick step to the right or left puts the entire pack in range of a cleaving attack. A quick follow up around the group tends to finish them and leaves me angling into the next group.

I used to watch a sniper streamer on Planetside 2 who was always moving to make themself harder to hit as they lined up the next shot. Just a simple back and forth movement that made shots at them go astray.

DDO has this capability available although very few players seem to use it.

I decided to finally get around to playing the original Zelda yesterday, which I never have. Was a good time with the all day downtime for DDO. Almost got through it all in one sitting, will have to finish it today.

There are some great non-woke mods for BG3. :sneaky: (y)
