Keep All Void and Elemental Finishers Please?

Also maybe make it so you could do that with prefix and suffix abilities as well since collectible take forever to gather. some years even................
Not everyone got millions to buy them off AH if they even there, nor do most people have time to farm them so this would really be a "We appreciate your time" move from you Devs for us players. thanks and have a great day!

Certainly that would be nice, and I often wished it worked like that – but I'm afraid they actually want us to recraft the whole item.

Which is exactly why I'd go a step further with the idea that items should scale with the character level. This means a Strength item would give 1 Strength if you equip it on a level 1 character, and exactly the same item would give 5 Strength on a level 7 character. Then we basically wouldn't need ML shards at all.

And this isn't about making crafting easier: you could add a special scaling shard to the game that replaces the ML (minimum level) shards and make it 100 times more expensive than an ML 40 shard would be – and I would still be super happy with that solution!

Rare? The Curse Cleansers are starting to pile up in my bank. I got three today from the Remnant Rush and I've gotten at least two each previous month of the event.
Yes, compared to their usefulness such curse cleansing cards are rare – and because of this I'd rather farm an item 10 times than use one of these cards, since people currently buy them for around 400 Astral Shards on the AH.

And if the item is too hard to farm for that approach, I'd rather live with a bad curse than use such a card. The problem is that the next curse is also purely random – it's not even rare that you don't get the curse you want after 30 tries. That's why these cards are (IMHO) only something for whales.

If you ask me, curse cleansing cards should be called curse removing cards, and they should work like this: they remove the curse from the item – but create a new card that can apply exactly the removed curse to another item. And yes, I know this would increase the usefulness of these cards dramatically, but I still think they would then be well balanced against their rarity.

Not a fan of this idea. Would be equivalent to making expansion pack gear sets scalable, and negate the time, energy, and effort I and many others put into sourcing mats for crafting, imo. I would not feel good about that happening.
People have been asking for scalable gear since the game came out, so being able to alter a crafted item wouldn't be the worst idea.

I don't know if people have asked for scalable items since the game came out. I just know that this matter became acute at the point SSG introduced True Reincarnations and playing one and the same character countless times from level 1 to cap became a regular part of DDO. At that point at the latest, it would make a LOT more sense for DDO to have items we can use at all character levels. Making them scalable is just one possible way to achieve that. For example, if you have an item that increases spell power, the percentage can be fixed on the item and the "scaling element" can be based purely on the caster level of the spell.

What especially puzzles me is that there are still players who don't see that items usable at all character levels would make so much more sense for DDO than the current ML system – which is basically just the same as in other games that don't even have a reincarnation mechanic!

And maybe not absolutely all items should be scaling, even if I think that should be the general rule for DDO. But some items can definitely be scaling – namely items that basically already scale today, just with the problem that you need up to 9 versions of the same item for the "scaling", almost exactly the same item, only with a different ML. For such items we could have scaling for sure, without any game balance issue! And items from essence crafting could also scale, because you can already craft them as a level 1 item and the exact same item as a level 34 version – the only difference is the ML shard!

The hard truth is that scalable items could greatly impact character banking. Thus selling banking-slots to new players, would no longer be possible. Never-mind that it would be a huge quality of life boost for everyone, SSG would rather players deal with lag, slow banking, and gear-tetris than walk away from an easy sale.

I would think it would cut down on hoarding and that would help game improvement. As far as crafting goes since we dont get anything back from deconing a crafted item and it cost so much to craft I never get rid of it, it goes on a bank toon in hopes it can be used again. If the level scaled or we could change it, it would help alot.

wow has had scaling items since wrath of the lich king and as long as they stop scaling just shy of level cap items i dont see a problem with having similar auto scaling items in the game
