Please move the favor for inventory and bank tabs

In nearly every way, more content is a great thing, and I am grateful for it. However, there is one way in which more content leads to more frustration for me and perhaps many others: favor earned inventory and bank tabs. These are essential to me, so I feel compelled to complete Coin Lords and House Kundarak favor quests in lieu of newer, alternative quests at similar levels.

I game casually, and enjoy and rely upon PUGs for much of my gaming experience. When I complete Coin Lords and House Kundarak favor quests, I often no longer am of a character level to join groups that are adventuring in the similarly leveled, newer quests.

May I suggest that these essential favor rewards be redistributed, as follows:

Coin Lords favor
REMOVE 2 character inventory tabs

House Kundarak favor
REMOVE 2 character bank tabs

Total favor
ADD 100 - 1st character inventory tab
ADD 200 - 2nd character inventory tab
ADD 300 - 1st character bank tab
ADD 400 - 2nd character bank tab
500 - Warforged

This proposed change would free me to enjoy the newer content without hampering my toons in an essential way.

No

The backstory as it were is of the various Houses, and the enrichment of Stormreach and so on.

Hold level, and complete the other quests. If you've spent long enough time on it, you'll be able to blitz through them on your own w/out the PUG :)
Thank you for your response, Zavina.

Perhaps, I should have specified in my original post that the removal of these rewards from Coin Lords and Kundarak would require replacement by something that is House appropriate, but not quite so imperative to every single toon, every single life.

No. With all the changes to banks, there is no reason you should need bank slots or character slots on your toons. You can run them later for favor if you need them before you TR, and if you do, you should rethink things significantly as you are wasting a LOT of time dragging things from your TR cache. TR toons should be run as barebones as possible so you don't waste time standing at the bank.

Making inventory and bank favor rewards "sticky" like the universal tree unlocks for vkf, hw, inq, etc. would be fantastic. Running those every life is a bit of a grind, especially for iconic lives.
there was a patch where they accidentally made the bank space persist through reincarnation and I miss it every time I TR.

None of the quests needed to achieve these favor levels are particularly difficult, and as a whole can be solo completed in a matter of hours. If they’re causing you problems you might want to reconsider your build(s).

All that is true -- according to my TR notes, it's about 90m to blitz through Coin & Kundarak for 2x inventory & bank. I generally skip it when doing TR cycles and run them when intended to stay capped a long time.

Even so, I'd still like favor-earned inventory and bank to be sticky like universal trees.

Game isn't improved by requiring reruns to earn them again in the same way it's not improved by requiring raid and quest flagging every life. Story-sequence enforcement via lockout is a bad hack in a game built on reruns. I'd far prefer sequencing to be handled more naturally, similar to the way the depths quests are linked end-to-start.

I think you misunderstand me. I did not say that the quests in question were too difficult, nor that they take too long. My point is that there is an opportunity cost to pursuing those quests at the appropriate levels. I would prefer to be free to play whatever content I wish--especially newer content--without worrying about fitting these essential favor rewards into my progression. Instead, I think that I should get these essential favor rewards for my progression, whatever the path of that progression may be.

And consider this: the Warforged favor reward, once earned on a server, is forever after a valueless reward on that server; whereas, favor earned inventory and bank tabs are of value to every single toon, every single life.

P.S., upon further reflection, I would love for the designers to make favor reward ability tomes Bound to Account, instead of Bound to Character.

It's a very welcome QoL feature. Not the most needed, but very welcome.

Players will end up getting enough favor for both anyway simply because some of the quests are good xp. You will probably still do the waterworks or the droaam stuff and VoN in epics.
This would stop forcing everyone to do the same thing every life.

That said, never gonna happen though. Devs be busy.

What do you mean tr toons should be barebones? it's been my main toon for 20ish years, the amount of bound to character equipment i have really prevents it from being bare bones.
There's stuff I have that I could throw out as it's pointless, but I spent forever getting it or it's a reminder of the good old days of DDO.

99.9% of btc equipment is not needed. It’s not even a debate. You created your own problem and want ddo to solve it.
