PLEASE reconsider the ViP lock on Cormyr server

the point of the server is to be vip, it was said it would be vip from the start, and you are asking for the whole reason behind the server existing to be removed? the server is gonna die after the event ends whether its vip or not. its the same as HC league in the sense that guildmasters waste money on a ship they cant use after the season ends (in this case it doesn't go away and can be used for the next event, but cormyr is going to die a horrible death once the current event ends)

Cormyr is a perk for VIPs so keep it as VIP only.

False assumption. CORMYR is not and probably never will be the default server so people "new" to DDO won't automatically join it. If they read the forums about Cormyr without also seeing the restrictions, then that is on them.

Option:
D) add "VIP Only" after Cormyr on launcher when it closes to nonVIPs.

Cormyr was clearly marketed VIP only. Opening it up to non VIP was clearly a limited-time thing.

Some might think they can get SSG to change their minds with constant tantrums in multiple threads, but that won't change the original purpose and design of the server.

This should be a lesson to anyone who posts as if they know what SSG's future plans are. Most days it doesn't appear that even SSG knows what they're planning beyond next week.

I do not care about the why, who or whatever. It was and is the right move for the game/ server.

Making it the default server was the right move given it is the only 64-bit server at this time.

There was no point in having new players come onto a 32-bit server that they would likely be pushed off of sometime in the next year.

It also seems possible that the other 64-bit servers have been pushed back a bit as SSG learns from the LotRO process and tries to avoid repeating that process on the DDO side.

I recall when I created my first character on cormyr my primary motivation was literally "let's see how this plays out". At the time Orien was occasionally so bad many days I just gaveup trying to logon. I would like to think my game time on Cormyr contributed to performance testing etc because [despite the ongoing complaints of fellow some gamers] I have seen a massive improvement on orien. Its possible orien will once again keel over and die after cormyr reverts to VIP but until then...

I did notice connectivity issues on orien recently...
