Potion and Spell Component Folders.

As I was gearing up for this most recent TR. I found myself purchasing hundreds of Cure Serious Wounds potions, and Haste potions. An issue I am sure many others have experienced in some form or another. It dawned on me, that I might be more open to the additional potions in the store if I had a place to store them. That last part is the important bit: Storage. I don't necessarily need to be able to access them from the bag, just a storage location. The reason being is I am fine with keeping 100 haste potions (for instance) on my person...but being able to stick another 400 in a bag would be a huge boon on inventory space. Ideally when one potion runs out the bag would drop a new stack into the inventory, but even if it has to be done manually the benefit would be immense and would increase the value of store-bought potions.

As I was pondering this, it also occurred to me that I do something similar with spell components. I typically recommend people buy a thousand of each right after a TR, However, in reality I often purchase several stacks of a thousand for each spell level that I know I will be using a lot. Ex: Level 3 on a fire savant focused sorcerer. In a perfect world the bag would deposit a new stack right into the inventory therefore enabling seamless continuation of casting. However, if that would not be possible even a manual moving storage system would enable more efficient storage of duplicate copies of spell components. I understand that casting spells directly from a component bag requires an overhaul of the overall spell system therefore is not feasible.

We already have a similar system in place with hireling folders. Which are awesome for storing excess hireling stacks (here's looking at you Mikayl the Pious). So, it would be merely adapting that same existing programming to work with potions and spell components.

10 lifetimes? I know of people who zerg quests solo/small group that will go through 300+ haste potions and several hundred health potions PER life, You cant even get a 30% speed augment until 8 or so. It's about efficiency. Going to the store every few quests is inefficient. I hate the idea of selling junk loot even, so inefficient. So often I won't loot chests. I am not alone in this. In addition, my main focus on this is the large quantity of store-bought potions that are useful in the end game (not necessarily for the leveling process). I know of people who run around with 100+ different potions items etc. for survival in high reaper/preparedness for every potential situation. Being able to store those excess potions would be a boon some people would pay DDO points for.

I would like to see potion melanges at premium price as a plat sink, e.g. 10-50 times more expensive than standard potions.
- Cure Disease+Poison+Blind
- Remove Curse+Lesser Resto+Remove Paralysis
- Rage+Haste+Divine Favor
- Merfolks+Water Breathing+Feather Fall

They do that in Zelda for decades, why can't they do that here. I'd really like a trio potion of poison, disease, curse removal. POS mummy rot

yugo pots require annoying quests so its much easier to buy a bunch of stacks on one life adn never do it again :p
You know, I had not considered this. Bags as I have suggested would be good long term storage for hard to obtain potions, like the Yugo Pots. They would also consolidate their storage down and assist with the TR inventory management process.

How do you TR without selling off all your vendor-available consumables to make room for emptying your TR cache, and then just buy a new stack next life?

Nobody who makes this game wants to do this. We've been asking for this kind of stuff forever, but the way storage us so heavily monetized makes it as likely as asking mcdonalds to sell drinks at cost.

I mean, in a certain sense, ddo is monetized in the opposite way that something like bg3 or Witcher 3 were. In those, the goal was to build as enjoyable experience as possible for the player because the whole game got sold in a lump. QoL stuff could be added through mods or by devs later as players asked for it. Ddo is much more like 1980s arcade games where the goal is to make the players spend as much time playing and QoL (think extra lives in arcade games) were the main source of revenue.

Things like quivers, pouches, etc, had a shot at being added before it went free to play, because a subscription model means you have to add that kind of stuff to keep players happy. Subscription now would need to be something like 20 or 30 bucks a month to remonetize the game, and people would just leave at that point.

Only chance now is for them to get added as goodies to get people to buy "ultimate" editions of expansions.

If it's any consolation, I bet the devil wake up hating how the game is monetized, too, but it's the only think keeping the lights on.

I think they should do one for scrolls and call it a trapper keeper.

Pretty sure it was a coding thing that prevented potion bags and scroll containers that had multiple clickables in it.
I remember old posts about this topic where devs said that.

Selling botion belts and scroll containers would be a good source of revenue though. It might be worth some coding hassle.

Or even bank tabs dedicated to those items for DDO points. Would be revenue and help with storage space as a whole.

Have a large enough shared account to toss them into. Invariably you get the dribs and drabs accumulated at some point..
