Primal Avatar Epic Moment

I wonder why avatar has a worser cost reduction for Intensify then magus & angel all of them have it in T5 and avatar also pays 3 points (2 more) for the worser version?

Edit: nah the worst is shadowdancer, the tree let one belive it would support fighting but then T5 is only about insta killing.

Because no time stop and ruin? This is such a weird attitude. That destiny is absolutely fine.
I have practically never seen anybody go deeper than tier 3 in primal avatar, outside of perhaps some cheesing mechanics with the elemental immunity in the epic moment, oh and the occasional supportminded person taking the unicorn.

TBH if the epic moment had something like "Your Primal Mantle's internal cooldowns are reduced to 1 second each" for the duration Primal Avatar would actually be reasonably good.

I actually really like the PA summons. They're what all summons (and hirelings?!) should be. Immobile lol. It cuts down on 90% of the stupid AI issues, they just stay there rooted and unload on enemies.

I forget what the epic moment does, is it like the old one where you slowly turn into a tree or something? And every few sec it changes what's going on? That was annoying lol

You exactly descript my healer, lol. And epic moment is "oh ****" button. 8)

Is it really that bad? 25% movement speed, 25% uncapped dodge, 100% fire and light absorb, immunity to most CC, become ethereal, and tick damage and or healing every 2 seconds. The healing is nice for bosses, especially if you Maximize, Empower and Intensify the epic moment. I'm still playing around with destinies on my trickster, but it seems decent for the utility of it.

I usual take Thorn for 50% incorporeality. It's good. 8)

Notice how I didn't ask for improvements to what the epic moment itself does, but to the animation delay before it activates. The Epic moments are very "oh noo panic!!" -style epic moments and that doesn't align well with the activation delay before the epic moment.

That said I do think it is still quite a bit worse than Ascendance, Turn the Tide, Beckon, Unyielding (due to no delay, and works vs actually scary damage like evil/force, or when you get knocked down in a vengie circle) and of course Time Stop. That would be my subjective opinion as a healer player - I played around with t5 primal for quite some time in the past and it mostly came down to the weak nature of the t5 that I dropped it despite usually (always) being at least t3, sometimes t4 in primal - I'd instead be in fatesinger, unyielding, ea, t5s on healer.

And I used the "Heart" epic moment in raids and Sky/Thorn in R10 questing when I was testing it out on healers.

And not saying your wrong, but some others obviously don't like the moment itself. The utility has worked for boss fights pretty well.

I think others don't like the t5 in general - it's expensive, and it's almost entirely just "frog and epic moment", and it's expensive too (even the summon is a 2 pointer - intensify cost reduction is not cost efficient point spend for a t5).

I actually like the effect I get from the epic moment, just not the delay - but even then it's really hard to justify going there over any of the other healer trees (healer pov) - and casters get 0 damage and weak support for generic offensive casting from the t5.

For example, EA has free intensify for 1 point, when Primal has -6 cost for 3.

There's no spell power, there's no prr/mrr, none of anything like that. It's just kinda barren.

From my experience it's directly opposite, Heart better for R10 questing and Sky/Thorn - for raiding. 25% Dodge still 25% in R10 unlike 50% Incorporeality. 8)

I don't feel like I need the extra source of healing from Heart in r10 questing at all, but the CC, speed and maneuverability lets you jump around and fool around with little danger. Same applies equally for all 3 epic moments - though 50% incorp is quite good.

Meanwhile, in raiding Heart can allow burn phases to go better and fire immunity is preferable to acid/elec, while the others are quite... negligible. For example, in Fire over Morgrave the Heart epic moment is quite interesting if you need to move the Balor - as an example - but the odds of someone dying during the casting animation is annoyingly high as well ;( if I care about my epic moment in raiding, it's probably a fairly high Reaper raid or very shortman => 50% incorp is indeed nerfed in raid scenarios as well.

What do you need the Thorn/Sky epic moment for in raids? Do you like the cc in add phases? I don't see myself ever being in Primal t5 for raiding tbh even if it was instant activate, HP and dps boost epic moments are far better - but that might be a narrow view and a more completionist healer giving up on some defences in favor of DC casting could perform just fine in T5 Primal.

Well I usually use the ally to grab initial aggro in big fights. It groups everyone up pretty nicely. I'm still in testing mode with my trickster though, so I'm trying different destinies and running them for a bit.
