Pros & Cons of Kobolds & or Goblins as PC options

I'm really torn on this because I don't really have any burning desire to play a kobold or goblin. However, I could easily create a Deekin homage or my version of a Kobold Shaman (although preferably that some how comes with Kobold as Iconic to the race,) and cobble-up some gremlin-esque Goblin rogue. I own both Shifter and Shifter Iconic and have yet to play it because I can't really think of any character concept which appeals or inspires me. So I can see it from both sides, those that really want that character concept and those that have no desire whatsoever for those character races.

Would love to see Kobold as new race but idc about Goblin other than it would get us an additional AP so yay. I heard the next Iconic and new race is going to be a Sub-race of Halfling known as a Rager which goes with the new Barbarian Archetype. They can only be Barbarians and must be Chaotic aligned. Using a lesser heart or alignment change token are not options so must be pure Barb to 20 and 30. I saw it on tiktok... The Kobold would be great race to center the Sorc Archetype on though.

I know that there are arguments that some among the player base would make for & against the inclusion of these 2 small races. I won't hide my bias, I am for the inclusion of these options & I see it as an asset to DDO, It'll extend the replay value for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that those who like these races & want to play as them would have yet another way to enjoy & experience the game. I am interested in what thoughts other players have to share on this, for & against.

Good hunting, all
Pros. Doom dooom dooom song doooooooom.

I would like to see Kobolds as some weird favor unlock or something. Not sure of details of how. I think they should be heavily penalized too—halfling carrying capacity, low STR and CON, bonus to CHA skills when dealing with dragons ofc., maybe evasion high in the racial tree? Lightning bolt SLA, throw flaming flask native skill, boosts to sneaking, flanking and jumping—easy to envisage.
Kobold stats as per 3E:
  • -4 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution.
  • Small size: +1 bonus to Armor Class, +1 bonus on attack rolls, +4 bonus on Hide checks, -4 penalty on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits ¾ those of Medium characters.
  • A kobold’s base land speed is 30 feet.
  • Darkvision out to 60 feet.
  • Racial Skills: A kobold character has a +2 racial bonus on Craft (trapmaking), Profession (miner), and Search checks.
  • Racial Feats: A kobold character gains feats according to its character class.
  • +1 natural armor bonus.
  • Special Qualities (see above): Light sensitivity.
  • Automatic Languages: Draconic. Bonus Languages: Common, Undercommon.
  • Favored Class: Sorcerer.
  • Level adjustment +0.
