Purest White Outfit/Armor

I was thinking about a look with pure white armor and a black cloak. What's the closest we can get to that? White Dragonscale/Order's garb + Black cosmetic cloak?

Purest white is kinda dependent on your display (settings and panel tech), eyes, where you are standing in DDO (as some environmental lighting with alter the colours viewed), as well as how textured the item is.

For example, because the White Dragonscale Armours are latticed with the scales as a texture, it kinda deadens the White, as well as it being matched up with a lot beige, yellow or gold coloured acents so it doesn't quite feel as pure white as it should be.

Whilst something like the Cooks Outfit is a lot more white because there's a lot less to break up the white colour.

However, both will look off if you stand in the Feywild with the blue environmental tinge. Or in Eveningstar during sunset where everything is awash with a yellow red hue.

Silly me, I missed out the recommendation list:
"White" garments:
White Dragonscale equipment, VIP Silver Dragonscale equipment, Robe of the Magi (due to more unbroken blocks of white), Unversity Bulwark stuff (if you're only after the top as white), and Cooks Coat would be your best bets.

Black cloaks:
A random gen can be a solid black colour, so sweep the AH (non ASAH) for all the cheap cloaks, put them on then dispose if not black. The other option is as @Hobgoblin said, the Vampire Cloak, but that's a DDO store item, so may not be for you if you prefer not to spend DDO points on it.

Once upon a time, I often wore White Dragonscale Armor. Over the years, I have asked for a new white outfit on numerous occasions. It is hopeless.

Randomly generated armors and robes found in chests are all based on ancient designs. The newest one was added circa 2013.

Just a reminder; that the random gen cloaks can generate a pure black cloak as well; it's basically identical to the one from the store being bought for DDO points.

So if you have some mirrors of glamering already, and have some time, it's "cheaper" to grab the random gen cloaks on the cheap in the AH and once found, glamer that instead. If you need it "now" and have no immediate mirrors to glammer with, then going direct is also fine as costs and time saved is around the same. But yeah, same item visually otherwise. Note, this is not the vampire cloak from the DDO store; that has a black exterior with a red internal lining - so not pure black when viewed front and behind. Whilst the one listed is black visually from the front and back.

Shouldn't be hard to have a mirror. They appear surprisingly often from daily silver rolls. I've destroyed a full stack of them to make space.

Unless if that design has been changed recently. It might be largely black, but it's not a solid black colour. There's actually a triangular "mountain" range at the bottom half of the cloak there that is largely "black" but the top half is a lighter shade and thus might not be suitable for OP.

Definitely something for them to consider, but I suspect they're after the solid block version.

In my opinion, by far the best white armor in the game is the Full Plate of the Defender from (heroic) Vision of Destruction. It's also very rare now since getting it isn't easy. You'll likely need to either solo it 20 times or drag some friends along with you to increase chest pulls.

There is a random gen chainmail that is mostly white (I don't have one and don't have a pic), but it seems I find it every hardcore season. It is low level, so you might find it by buying up some low lvl chainmail from the AH or vendors. It might even be low enough lvl to find in Korthos or the Borderlands.

yeah, that's a terrible picture. I have the cosmetic and it's far more white. Very prototypical "good guy" Paladin armor.
Looks like that pic was from 2012, back when there was that yellow "haze" on the character screen and all over Stormreach. So not surprising that picture is not matching up how it should look like. Are you (or anyone who has it) able to screen grab it now and link it? So someone is able to replace it on the wiki? Or at least, let us see it as we should be seeing it now via a linked image on the forum?
