Cool esthetics in this quest. I like the choice of sneaking or fighting. Some feedback I would like to give on this quest. Did it on heroic
  • The Rune pad to jump up to unlock one of the chests was wonky. Had to use it several times to get it to boost me.
  • XP is very poor for this quest for how long in both duration and how many creatures you have to kill.

I don't work for SSG- I pay their bills.
Not SSG’s fault by any means, but the red paired with my OLED monitor is absolutely brutal on my eyes lol.

Did it solo, so I didn’t get to see, but I hope parties are able to split on this one? If not it’s going to be another Bark and the Blade (saga skip with VIP)

Edit: can we PLEASE get a pet of the Barlgura???

If Baba Lasagna raid was not enough for you, we've got this "masterpiece" you need to run 3 times through ! 😫

- Looked interesting both underdark and Astral plane.
- Feel like I missed something underwater or was just red herring. Didnt find any secret paths/side opts.
- Missed optional by 5 mushrooms, not sure if might've given random 2nd end chest maybe?
- I liked sneaking, but very short lived. Would rather be able to sneak passed the trash instead of the 'have to kill everything to remove magical barrier'. Did I miss a platform/s somewhere?
- 2 side bridesmaids were pretty easy.
- End boss was disappointingly easy compared to TOEE fight. Hard to believe same being...

An odd conglomeration of puzzles and locales. I don’t mind platforming but this one left me wondering “where’s the beef?”. The end boss I was prepared to fail however she was killed by my at level hireling lol. I didn’t see her rippling damage aura from ToEE, where did that go? Maybe you guys need a refresher on how absolutely decimating she is? The Jelly at the end gave me a laugh I just think we need to see more of a fight at the end. Maybe add a second named chest for saving the jelly as this one is rather long with all the jumping up and down and back again. The secret mage chest was a fun surprise.

Legendary R1 for most of the quests on my warlock felt pretty much good to me, just like lamordia did; except R1 wedding, where the mobs felt silly on the HP bloat/things saving way more than I expected. But they were equally not a threat to me; affirmation + 5 hires meant I never needed to self-heal. It was like slogging thru where nothing was hurting me, but everything felt slow to kill.

The caves were cool. The colors gave them a sadistic, alien feel. The astral plane section was alright. The zugg fight was pitiful. Maybe include some DM text about her being weakened by the broken connection/failed ritual, if you aren’t gonna make her tougher?

Overall, best of this round of preview quests I thought

Somebody put some serious time into this quest. It is an involved quest, worthy of expansion pack. The aesthetics of the caverns are fantastic. And the astral plane is once again done well. No real complaints.

Of course, I'm the kind of masochist who really enjoys quests like these. For example, I managed to bug this quest on my first attempt by reaching Avatar of Araumycos's Sanctum before finding Zug's Bridesmaids and severing Zug's Connections. Paling should be added to the rear of the skull for people who enjoy jumping a lot. (I also managed to get stuck in the wrist joint on the "right" hand. I'm not sure that merits comment.)

As for the Zug fight, on Legendary the difficulty might be increased to a level worthy of her reputation.
