Quest Reward Not Awarding

I have grouped with a friend a couple times and at least two quests are not updating properly in his log. In particular, Bardy Cartemon' chain and the Guard Tember quests in the Harbor.

He got the favor, xp, and all other aspects of it, but it did not advance his quest log, and he was unable to select a quest reward for completion.

I am not aware of any aspect that would normally matter, such as leaving the quest early, disconnecting, or being separated in any way. In fact, we were on the same wifi for the Guard Tember ones.

Wondering if anyone had an idea as to why. Thank you!

Most likely cause is not having spoken with baudry to pick up or advance the chain? From memory you can red door these quests, which will not count for advancing the chain.

We both did everything together, including getting the quest from Baudry. Shouldn't be anything obvious we can tell. The fact it happened with two different quests is why I was concerned.

We sat next to each other so I could monitor it, and it sure did do something funny. He is new, so I wanted to make sure. I watched him get the quest, made sure we were both in the quest, made sure there were no disconnects, completed the quests together, and checked favor, xp, and so on.

Under the quest log, it did not update, but it *does* show in the Adventure list as done for favor, which is weird.
