Question on a new build for a friend

I've been running with a friend who just started a ranger and is loving it. He hits hard enough to draw aggro from my barbarian, and that's saying something lol.

My question is, could he splash the ranger with a rogue to make an assassin/ranger or ranger/assassin?

Something that can range and remain hidden better?

If the problem is the aggro your friend draws then adding rogue levels won't help.

Mobs target whoever is first seen, and whoever does the most threat "damage".

You could help by intimidating the mobs.

Could theoretically pick up a level of Warlock to get Subtle Spellcasting to reduce threat generation by up to 40%, but Vox probably has the better idea of using intimidate.

I think the issue here is you should be investing in threat amp while your friend picks up threat reduction. Multiclassing is one option, but see if using Intimidate and adding some gear does the trick.

Oh, I have a really good intimidation and hate generation. I don't think that's the issue. This is his first ranger, and he's yet to find the sweet spot. I can generally keep their aggro. His ranger hits hard af, and so far is the only alt of his that can pull aggro off that barbarian.
