Raccoons in DDO?

Dances with the daffodils.
I just saw a video of the DDO Gen Con, and in it, one of the Devs mentioned that there are RACCOONS hidden in DDO somewhere this week?! Well, actually he said, "beloved cryptids", but the picture he showed looked like raccoons. Does anybody have any idea where they are?

I'm pretty sure many NPCs are raccoons stacked up wearing clothes and masks. I hope at some point this story arc is resolved, because the game will not let me ask questions about it or let me rip off their disguises either, and this whole thing is driving me crazy.

I'd never heard of Jimothy before this. Call me an old cynic but I'm struggling to give a toss about some internet meme coming to DDO. I mean why??? 🙄

But I am an old cynic, so... 👍
I sort of agree just because frankly I am not a big fan of brands becoming involved in memes. It's very "How do you do fellow kids?", but whatever it was probably an afternoon's work for a 3d artist who didn't have much on.

I was similarly bemused when I first saw someone mention Jimothy, but apparently it's a much beloved munted animal and I have to admit a sofr spot for munted animals. So if it doesn't hurt anything or slow anything more important down I'm fine with it. Not like modelling Jimothy has actually slowed down any mechanical changes we're looking forward to, those are usually different jobs.

This game has Flumphs in it - I'm not complaining if there's a raccoon somewhere when you seriously have Flumphs. Not just any Flumphs, but rainbow coloured Flumphs...

Jimothy has an official D&D stat block from D&D Beyond, which is owned by/part of Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast.

Additionally WoW will be adding Jimothy as a player companion pet soon, so DDO is not the only MMO to officially jump on the viral cryptid train.

Actually makes a lot more sense that it's in DDO because DND beyond covered him already, especially as the slide text says "A beloved cryptid" like the DND Beyond stat block does. I had assumed it was SSG copying WoW as I knew about the WoW one.

Sorry I do not.

Not one person replied in this thread to address your question either. :p Oh our beloved DDO community.

Can't mock disabled people anymore, but disabled animals are fair game...
hard cringe
I mean generally people react with adoration rather than mockery to animals with deformities.

While I appreciate it can set a dangerous precedent of people selectively breeding for "adorable" physical deformities I think most of the "famous" munted animals in modern meme culture are very well taken care of and loved in spite of their disabilities, not mocked because of them.

I think we've moved on a bit from the ableist behaviour that gave Grumpy Cat her name.
