Ransack Reset Potions

I know there are an absurd number of posts right now about rare loot, but I haven't seen one about the other notable thing from the expansion - ransack reset potions.

Isn't this just another blatant method of fleecing whales, that also incentivizes further reductions in drop rates by the devs?

Before, the whales could only spend shards on rerolls 8 times a week, but now they can spend DDO points to spend shards as many times per week as they care to run the same quest ad nauseum!

I think it's unlikely they're introducing these ransack reset potions while walking back on the rare loot debacle...

Devil's advocate:
On the other hand, if you combine the new potion + the bonus drops potion (+bonus weekend), you can do some serious burst looting.

Couple of points on this theory...

1. The pots are not in the store.Yet.
2. They've said their introduction has no correlation to rare loot.

Personally, I think they can make money from these pots without rare loot. Folks have been asking for them since way before the horrors of MD, and I expect they will be deployed to quests from before rare loot implementation too.

I have no issues with the pots per se. They're a honey trap for whales and that's fine if they help keep the lights on.

I can see how the two things are conflated and how the theory arises, given the pots do leverage added value from the awful rare loot context, but I tend to believe the Devs protestations of innocence here.

Pots aren't the problem. Rare loot is. Their release is not necessarily linked IMO, even if there is undoubtedly a degree of symbiosis between them.👍

They should be embarrassed and repulsed by their own parasitical behavior, but I am thinking they are not.

Who wants to speculate on what the potions will eventually cost?

My theory: like discovery pots you won't be able to buy them. Instead they will come with $80 patron coffer style packs where you get an ugly cosmetic a bugged mount, a useless pet, and 1 potion.

All for $80 in points, not available while there is a bonus points sale on.

I would have no problem and would even buy them at 495 points or less. Based on how they are 'priced' with the xpac I expect them never to be direct purchasable items, similar to the elixirs of discovery.

This could be a cash cow, for them.
BS, they have multiple plethora of cash cows they refuse to tap into; Where TF are the +9 & +10 tomes? Where are +50% discovery pots for the these horrendous rare loot tables we're expected to deepthroat? Where are the catchup mechanics for new/returning peeps or those that have multiple alts?
I know where they are...they're in all the other games that everyone else has been playing since MD went full ******.
I haven't missed a day of DDO play in 3mos after 15+ years of play. (Except now I have to pack and unpack my guild to move...again).

So here I am, SSG woke me up...what nonsense do I have to swallow now? Do I have to swallow a $130 pre-order to find the incentive tomes don't work? Do I have to knob on the fact that my Welf looks full blown Texan? Do I have to accept that I grinded days and rerolls to get a war helm that is busted and continues to be busted 9 mos later?
