It's a good expansion, you should.Brother, I am in the same boat as you. I guess I might as well buy veccna and give it a whirl.

I just checked and the quests aren't buried in an explorer area, so it meets my insanely basic freaking requirements for a pack I'll pay money for. It's a good expansion, you should.
To quote an old friend, I'd love to disagree with you ... but I can't.The "then dont play it" argument is quite a terrible idea for a company looking to make money from their customers. Equally bad for a developer that cares about their end product.
Personally I would like to play an endgame progression system, similar to what we had at 20 cap, and when reaper was released. Those are long dead systems now, so the only thing left is to try new builds at the same endgame that we already finished. If those new builds are also gated behind endless farming, then "just don't play it" will be answered with "fine."
I found Vecna pretty fun. And since it has no slayer area there is no annoying run to any of the quests.Brother, I am in the same boat as you. I guess I might as well buy veccna and give it a whirl.
So I bought it last night. Its not super fun for a heroic sorc who forgot an immunity stripper, but I imagine I'll have a nice time playing on legendary once I get back to normalcy.I found Vecna pretty fun. And since it has no slayer area there is no annoying run to any of the quests.
I enjoy it a lot on my warlock without immunity stripping, but I admit I wait to play it until I am level 20 to 22 with epic destinies (and warlocks have a lot of force damage which isn't hurt too much by a lack of immunity stripping). So I bought it last night. Part of the problem is there's still about half a million XP in heroic that's an abysmal slog to get through. I'm badly geared and badly speced. The exact second I hit 20 everything changes, but holding 19 makes my heart want to cry.I enjoy it a lot on my warlock without immunity stripping, but I admit I wait to play it until I am level 20 to 22 with epic destinies (and warlocks have a lot of force damage which isn't hurt too much by a lack of immunity stripping).
SignedIn my opinion, we badly need a system to craft mythic bonuses and a revamp of reaper crafting. And available cleansers.
You have to play the game the way they want you to. They want DDO to be a slot machine. No, thanks I don't gamble.I haven't logged in since October or November of 2024. While there are a few aspects of DDO I do miss, the system of engineered inconvenience isn't one of them.
