Seems to work fine. Random unneeded buffs that you can choose to do, or not do.
The only rare loot that I’m willing to accept - meaning “willing to keep playing DDO” - is for things like mounts, pets, etc.I wouldn't mind rare drop table so much if mythic crafting was a thing - especially because the rare drop table armors and weapons of Myth Drannor are all used to craft raid weapons/armors which can not exist with mythic bonuses because of the nature of being crafted.
But also too much is being put on the rare drop table, if it was a single item per quest that's whatever but is there really a worse feeling than farming for a rare item and getting a completely different one instead?
You’ve whined and cried louder about whiners and criers than anyone in this thread, and yet not one mind has been changed. Why cant we have a system that is hit and miss. Why do things have to be absolutely the best of the best. I wish they would take away curse clensers completely. Or even better, put some real curses in there. You have to take your chances and if you mess up a really nice item, that is on you. Live with it. If anything is making this game worse it is the people who whine and cry continuously if they don't get things exactly their way. The biggest power creep in the game is from overpowered gear and the curse system is just a way to pile even more power on top of these already too powerful items. It is an abomination. People are complaining that R8s are too easy now. IT IS ABSOLUTE INSANITY and it isn't sustainable. For too long the devs have given into these people and made it easier and easier to get the best gear. For bobs sake you can buy a sword of shadowns now. It used to be that only a very few, very lucky, much envied people had a sword of shadows, now they practically give them away. The game does suck, but it is because of the devs giving in to people that think everything should be given to them and cry like spoiled children when they don't get their way. The real problem is the devs just roll over and give it to them, making the game too easy, making these same people cry and complain about how bored they are. Let these people cry. Ignore them. Giving in only makes their expectations worse in the future and makes the game worse overall. EVERYONE SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO GET EVERYTHING EXACTLY AS THEY WANT IT. I shouldn't have to say that. It should be self evident. It should have been something their parents taught them as children.

The wise voice of reason.Seems to work fine. Random unneeded buffs that you can choose to do, or not do.
If you play a single character. But it's still high for people who play alts, at the current drop rate of reaper items. With a system like the current one, you need to dedicate a lot of time to obtaining reaper items, but as I said, the problem with alts is adding subsystems on top of a mountain of other subsystems, many of which can't be farmed at once, and many of which are time-consuming, while the devs keep moving the goalposts all the time. Gear, in particular, is too volatile with low durability to make it absurdly long to acquire.Reduce reaper crafting to 50 frags an item then add a mythic system for 5 frags a bonus
20 frags for a m4 and 50 for a reaper item sounds reasonable i'd chase that
Shhh, don’t let this top secret info out: DDO is a past life based game. Love your work.If you play a single character. At some point, someone on the dev team needs to stop and think about what the hell they really want for the game. Because right now, their ideas seem like drunken ramblings, without a long-term plan in mind.
And when they know what they want, let them be so kind as to explain it to us, instead of their obscurantist policy of telling us as little as possible.
Yes, DDO is a game based on past lives. And before, whenever someone in my guild said here on the forum that the devs were adding too many past lives, there was always someone who responded, "It's not that important. It's easy to equip alts; most of the gear is basic."Shhh, don’t let this top secret info out: DDO is a past life based game. Love your work.
Also, just increase cleaning card drop rates, add the mythic crafting system, lower reaper frag costs, and Bob’s your uncle.
And then, some of those alts might hope to benefit a bit even without past lives in a past life based game.
They way to win gacha games is to not pay. That's why gacha is synonymous with pay to lose. DDO is literally pay to loseI'm not going to get too wordy on this since I expect the peanut gallery to bring this to 10+ pages (see chapter 17 in my upcoming book "Fire and forget trolling.")
The curse-card system, along with farming for reaper and mythic versions of items, has ensured that we will farm and re-roll chests ad naseum in order to get that perfect item. There was no need for rare loot.
I pug a lot. Variety is the spice of life and how else am I supposed to feel about my mediocrity? 6+ months later I'm seeing most of the "non-crazies" still in older sets of gear, as if they didn't even bother to run Myth Drannor with it's predatory and borderline evil loot system. So bad that re-rolling is only worth it during a loot bonus and even then it's questionable.
The casuals are smarter, they realize the only way to win this "game" is not to play.
TLDR: Remove the rare drop rates completely.
Regarding cards, the curse cleansers are too rare. Either up the drop rate or sell them in the store.
The rare loot system is just one bad idea on top of another. Their decision to raise level cap to 40 destroyed a pretty fleshed-out end game. The hardest content in the game, MD is now blown through on R10 either solo or with half a group. These systems do suck, especially how they work together to make getting an ideal gearset so difficult. It's almost as if they were specifically designed to make people hate the game.
The addition of rare loot really says a lot about SSG's view of its customers. Rather than trying to make a good product that people want to buy, they've decided that the best way forward is to try suckering us out of our money with this obnoxious and abusive gambling mechanic instead.
It's obvious that they are having trouble monetising endgame, but this is not the way to do it. Making your players hate you is not how you increase revenue over the longer term.
Then it can truely be said you are a "Master Baiter"...When I do bate, it’s done masterfully
