Razorclaw Shifter, what is the 18/1/1 Meta?

Hi All,

Sorry if this a dumb question/request but I'm genuinely having difficulty googling it.

I'm aware that Razorclaw 18/1/1 (barb or fighter/fvs/warlock) is a good build but I see people saying that the reason for fvs is divine might. Does that mean it's main stat is Cha, rather than strength?

I'm likely going to do Razorclaw Barb next and will probably spend a while at endgame, though I'm not looking to use a heart of wood so likely Barb rather than fighter.

Is there an idiot's guide/build for this?

Cheers

No main stat is str secondary stat is cha/wis whichever you can get higher (you can swap items to snapshot a higher value before hitting the trance button)

There is no str trance you can use while raging/shifting and a trance is mandatory for dps.

Thanks, that's probably enough to idiot proof it for me. I was losing my mind because no matter what I googled nothing actually seemed to say!

Maybe I'm just bad at google in my old age.

This video I watched recently actually goes over the razorclaw meta you are talking about at around 19:30. And yes swapping stat sticks is mentioned there too.

haha funnily enough after spending ages googling it I didn't find that but then it appeared in my youtube feed an hour ago. Thanks.

Why do I have 522 ddo build files

Further details on this: class trances also have +attack, which is helpful in modern content, and FvS trance only costs 4 AP instead of 8 for like KtA.

Apparently it wasnt enough to idiot proof it because this moron forgot about the dex requirements for TWF. Guess I'll be gimped until I epic TR.
Well, I guess this is for after your ER.

I don't think there are any surprises here: buff up, Rage, hit things a lot. I don't think your Pact or deity feats matter, since we're not taking warlock nor FvS for anything besides ES Aura (procs Arcane Warrior stacks) and Divine Will.

Skill-wise I didn't know what to max out besides Use Magic Device. 10 ranks of Tumble for the extra charge and a few ranks of Balance for good measure? Sure, whatever.

I explain the AP breakdown in my other post. But if you find yourself dying too often, try swapping Berserker for Ravager to take Blood Strength and Critical Rage instead; or rearrange Epic Destinies to add Renewal or Rejuvenation Cocoon.

I've read mixed opinions on whether Patience is worth it on handwraps builds. Ying said no for Shintaos, so I hedged my bets on feats. My hunch is Patience is better for special attacks like Quick Cutter where the attack speed penalty doesn't matter; but worse for standing-still-&-punching situations, since this build is all about stacking attack speed from handwraps + VKF capstone + Haste Boost.

Not sure what the best Epic Destinies would be, but Nature's Fury should work with handwraps and we're a barbarian with Harbinger of Chaos, so hey, let's make Fury of the Wild primary.

Good advice thanks. I don't think I've ever actually read what vistani really does so it was a bit eye opening to know I was totally on the wrong track thinking it was just for the haste boots and a little bit of doublestrike.

All those past lives and playing on and off since beta and I am sadly still a n00b

maybe not possible at the moment, but if you have the investment you can make a stat stick swap.

go either wis or cha whatever you use for trance.

make a sentient weapon with all the stat ups in that - so up to 11

put in stat ins festive in it.

swap hit trance swap back.

watch servers lag..

If you haven't got 94 APs - are you even trying to win at DDO? :p - you can reduce Vistani down to 23 APs for Celerity and Mist Stalker line. Leftover points can go wherever you like.

Mericuflly I am a racial completionist at this point, but I managed that without ever playing a vistani.
