My preference is yes.I am curious what this means for Cormyr. With events across all servers will it remain VIP only? My preference is no

I assume that's because they used a 32-bit integer, not because of it being a 32-bit OS. You can use a 64-bit integer in a 32bit OS so they just likely opted not to and didn't want to redo the database info for that change.Actually, one of the Turbine Devs years ago did state on this subject that in DDO, the plat limit (which is a copper piece limit in disguise) was an imposition from 32-bit.
This would be nice. Although the couple of guilds I am part of are generally casual, it would be a shame not to transfer our guildships which literally cost us 100s of real $.I think I speak for all guild leaders here on this. We need to know your plans asap.
There's nothing stopping SSG from making it different though. As much as I am into playing undead characters. A Dhampyr is not one. They get some Vampiric abilities but they are not undead and do NOT heal from negative energy.
Or the code language they used may not have allowed it ; 64-bit was still in its infancy, 16-bit retro-compatibility was still a thing, and those 64-bit integers were IIRC used at the time only in some specialist software in standard 32-bit platforms.I assume that's because they used a 32-bit integer, not because of it being a 32-bit OS. An elf a day keeps the doctor away... says the green dragon. Yummy.Just be happy they're working on another elf race for the monster manual once they fix it.
But... I Want To Believe! If they fix it.
Whatever, they don't care and won't fix it.
Delphi Pascal had int64 in the late 90's from what I remember, so it wasn't unhead of way back in the day. But it's entirely possible SSG's coding setup didn't offer usage of it. But I suppose it's really neither here nor there as I don't think SSG is redoing that aspect of things for platinum.Or the code language they used may not have allowed it ; 64-bit was still in its infancy, 16-bit retro-compatibility was still a thing, and those 64-bit integers were IIRC used at the time only in some specialist software in standard 32-bit platforms.
This. Agreed, three should be enough and still have Cormyr doing it’s Cormyr thing. Considering the concurrent number of people online 3 should be fine.I'm hoping the new 64-bit servers shake out as:
1. Cormyr, the VIP fresh start only server
2. One US normal mega-server
3. One EU normal mega-server
Three servers total is more than enough for this game's current playerbase. This will be far fewer players per server than the game had at F2P release.
If they get the same team making new Ravenloft that worked on the old Ravenloft, I'm getting my credit card out to join the beta test team when the release the expansion.I'm excited for more Ravenloft! Please take the player feedback from Myth Drannor and do better!
Dunno about +3 tome, but chaosmancer is Q1 -- except after a first failed attempt to put it in the Store, it's been delayed. The roadmap is missing the info, which quarter of this year do you guys plan to release chaosmancer and +3 racial tome upgrade to the store
Hi Tolero,Ja wohl! Ich freue mich auch darauf. Bei einigen Cormyr-Playern kam es zu einer erhöhten Latenz. Ich bin gespannt auf Verbesserungen.
German, or at least what I've heard termed "hochdeutsch" specifically. I'm still learning the nuances of Austrian and Swiss Deutsch and other dialects. Although I'm told that I when I do speak it, that I have a Black Forest accent apparently.
LOTRO will have the 32-bit servers, the 2 current 64-bit Legendary servers (plus a 32-bit one), then 2 new ones in the US and 2 in Europe.
A DDO equivalent to that would be the current 32-bit servers plus Cormyr plus two 64-bit US and two 64-bit Euro servers, for a total of five 64-bit servers.
Why, what is the upside? My preference is yes.
Fresh start doesn't mean anything without regular wipes. It has only been 4 months and I have a dozen mules with gear and millions in plat. It doesn't take long to get past the fresh start. It is great for event seasons but not for a permanent instance.Same. Cormyr as a fresh start gives a real benefit to VIP and it is so nice to play in a new economy. If they open Cormyr up to transfers IN, I will be very disappointed.
If you strip out the "what we did last year" parts, it does look a bit threadbare...This isn't so much a Producer's Letter, as a "Producer's single rushed powerpoint slide"
I know they don't want to give any details they might be held to later, but this is ridiculous.
It's amazing how confidently you make bad arguments.Fresh start doesn't mean anything without regular wipes. It has only been 4 months and I have a dozen mules with gear and millions in plat.
