Real loot vs Coffers cosmetics

I think we look better by using real loot as cosmetics than ddo coffers. With coffer, the characters don't look like what they really are: class, skills, power...
What do you think about it?

For example, I see rogues with this cosmetic set from The Necromancer Patron's Coffer. They don't look like rogues. Some cosmetics can correspond to more than one class at a time, but I don't think this one can represent any, or maybe a wizard and a warlock!?

Also, a ****** appearance is worthless if you're not really ******, like The Volcanic Patron's Coffer. Plus, they look even more ridiculous with their dragon or butterfly wings. There are starting to be far too many cosmetics like this in the game.

In my opinion, using real loot in the game with Mirror of Glamering remains a better choice. Not to mention that it's much cheaper for something that offers no bonuses and gives your character nothing more than an appearance. And it's much nicer when cosmetics match the character's class.

What do you care what someone else wears? You Tim Gunn or something? How does what another player wears affect your gameplay?

Yeah on some toons, large cosmetics like wings can get in the way if you’re bunched up, but for the most part, if it makes them happy, then let them wear it.

I don’t care what someone wears as long as they can handle their business. You can wear the most mismatched abomination of a cosmetic set, as long as you can contribute and don’t need to be carried like an anchor through a quest/raid.

You want to be a fashionista, then play one of those waifu gacha games instead of DDO.

Of course I'll let them wear them! That's a strange remark, and it's a shame you perceive it that way. As I clearly stated, it's only my opinion, just as you've shared yours. Well, I mean it's not a milsim, it's a fantasy game. I think for the most part it's fine, bc who cares what someone else likes their toon to look like. Honestly, it can break the monotony when you see someone with good drip.

My opinion is I'm not gonna look at how a character looks to set my expectations of what kind of performance they will have. Just like in real life, just cause someone dresses like a gangster, a cholo, military personel, cop etc doesn't mean I should expect them to pull a weapon on me. I will watch their actions and form my opinions of that person accordingly.

If someone wants to make they're character look like a flaming skull, so be it. A fluffy floof floof, right on, a girl in skimpy outfits when your a guy in real life - whatever floats your boat mate. Dress how you want in the game. Do I think some things look cooler than others, yes. Do I think some appearances fit certain builds more, sure. But not everyone one dressed in soft pink polkadots and bunny ears is not gonna not punch you in the face.

On the real of it though patron coffers is just a different avenue for the company to make money. I can't be upset with them for that. It's not pay to win, it's pay to support a game I enjoy while getting something that I think looks cool. People are allowed to where what they want and think something looks cool just like you're allowed to think it looks dumb.
