Reaper xp scaling

Fair enough, but if they are given "xp worth doing" or become "more rewarding than the easier level 30+ content" as is asked for it will have dire consequences.
Agreed, there's a band to hit with any changes.

But having tried harbor on r10, I can say, they are fairly nasty. OK, we were only three people, but still. Not much zerg about it, took a while to run those normally very short quests.

It definitely shouldn't be more rewarding than 30+ content
Why not? More risk - more rewards, right? And at low lvl run r10 much more risking than trivial r10 lvl32 run. So? 8)
I propose next progression:
R10 lvl 1-10 - max reward, rxp x10
R10 lvl 10-19 - medium reward, rxp x5
R10 lvl 20-30 - trivial reward, rxp x3
R10 lvl 31+ - current reward, rxp x2

I am ok with RXP in heroics and epics being as is. At cap, you have 2x RXP legendary quests which saves time, if farming RXP is your goal. From SSGs standpoint, it probably makes perfect sense to do this as I bet most folks farming RXP would drink XP pots. Why does that matter? Well, that same group at cap may want to Raid as well. So imagine a system that keeps people at cap, and constantly ticks down, making money and not benefitting you while you raid in between R10 runs. Hmmmm. Sounds about right to me. Haha

Hmmm... I'd rather see more heroic xp as an incentive, if running R5+. R1-R4 as today, and R5-R10 giving 5-10% extra bonus. I think that would help grouping a bit at lower levels and give a bit of a reward at the same time.

I find it's a waste of time to run heroics on anything BUT R1, then run epics on R8-R10.. The rp scaling is horrible on heroics and if you zerg heroics on r1, you could at least save upwards of 1 min running quests per quest as opposed to running the same quest on r4 or r5..

Take that 1 min you saved and multiply it by the 60 or more that you would have to do in order to reach epic..

You would save at least 1 hr, maybe more...

in that 1 hr, if you did let's say Feywild on R6, you would gain about 4k each run. and maybe you get 6-8 quests done in that 1 hr..
so you now made 24k-32k rp.. Compare that with the 5k RP you would have made in that extra hr running heroic content at r4 or r5..

I think of it this way... currently 99.9% of heroic quests run on reaper are in the 1-4 skulls range, and most of those on r1. I'd like to change that number to, say, the 95% ballpark. This leaves plenty of LFMs for newer players, but also opens up a small window for any who would like the challenge and fun on higher reaper in heroics - and not feel a complete idiot where rewards are concerned.

I don't think most levelling LFMs are going to change much unless the reaper xp for high skulls is set stupidly high. Most people run for the regular xp to get pastlives/to get to cap.

So I think there's a window for a meaningful upgrade to heroic reaper xp in higher skulls, where it doesn't completely change the current dynamics - but still opens up a new (or at least more meaningfully rewarded) option for those who might possibly find higher skull heroics fun.
I'm definitely on team more-RXP-for-heroics, but if I could really pick a reward to increase heroic reaper play it would be a greater chance of mythic and reaper equipment drops. It's amazing how many vanilla items drop even on high levels of reaper and my main motivation for higher reaper heroics is gear bonuses.

Yeah, that is the problem. There is simply no world in which the RXP in heroics is worth the time it takes to earn no matter how strong your character. That ideally would not be the case.

The funny thing is, this is not even as crazy as it sounds. The base RXP for low level heroics is so terrible that a 10 times modifier still wouldn't make it all that high.

Raiding / high reaper at cap with the population on DDO will not survive a large chunk of cap stayers ditching those runs for heroic play.

If we had infinite amount of players, I'd be inclined to agree! But the player ranges for high reaper play in heroics especially are narrow, and the population of DDO simply can not sustain it imo if everyone is spread across those ranges. Cap raiding suffer badly and it's already hard to find pugs. The tradeoff would be that heroic raiding might raise it's head though, so who knows.

I say this while fully acknowledging my own bias in favouring cap play over heroics - and note, even though I despise heroic gameplay in general compared to epic/legendary, I still advocate for heroic improvements. Just not enough to be the best gains even in terms of rxp. There has to be incentive to stay at cap for raids to happen.

For me personally that have 39 different characters (will be 40 once the new race/iconic is released) of which 8-10 is active at any given time I don't have that many reaper points on each character and I don't usually stay at cap for that long either.

This is because it feels unproductive to me (even though I would still level the reaper trees). I usually keep 1 or 2 at cap to do raids and farm gear etc but that's it.

If I was a 3x completionist (race, class, Iconic and epic) it would be a different story. Then I would make that char what I want it to be and keep him for raids and rxp farming.

The other problems for me is that during the levelling process is where I get most of my rxp since I'm playing catchup with all those that did the tr train back in the day. Most of my chars are 2nd or 3rd lifers with a few beeing on their 4th life. I used get some of that higher rxp during the 30-32 levelling but with the change they did where if you done it once you automaticly get level 32 once you hit 30 I never really run that much legendary on them unless the build is really kickass.

Further is the increase in rxp points needed for each reaper points. I mean when you are on your first points it's not that big of a deal but as example the char I'm currently playing I have 11 reaper points, the sheer number of rxp for next point is so hugh when you get around 300-400 rxp points per quest and for each point I get it increases even more. I can't even imagine the struggle when you have like 30 reaper points. At that point it's almost not even worth doing reaper at all during the levelling process after a tr.

But to be fair, I don't want to come off as someone that only complains and just want and want stuff to be handed to me. If this is how it is I'll cope and plays along since I still enjoy the game. I have taken many pauses in between the many years I have played but I love this game and will always come back to it as long as that feeling stays with me.
