Reincarn from 34 to 1?

Hello all, just looking to build up some alts...
What is needed to reincarn from 34 all the way back to 1st? Is this a 2 step process, from 34 to 20 then 10 to 1?

It depends on what you're playing and what past lives you want.

If you're on a non-iconic race then you'll want a epic heart of wood to go from 30+ to 20 and then either a Heroic True Heart of Wood or Heroic True Heart of Blood (for either class or racial past life) to go from 20 down to 1.

If you're on an iconic race, then you need an Iconic True Heart of Wood and that'll take you from 30+ down to 1.

You can either go Epic TR + Racial or Heroic TR.
Or just go for Racial or Heroic.

Going from any level 20+ (including from level 34) back to 1 requires either a Heart of Wood for a class based past life, or a Heart of Blood for a race based past life.

Most people will suggest not doing this, but instead doing an epic reincarnation first (which brings you back to 20) so you can gain an epic past life, then do either a class or racial reincarnation immediately afterwards, so you can get more benefits at the same time.

Unless of course you're currently an Iconic, in which case you will need an Iconic Heart to go back down to 1, and you can NOT do an epic first if the goal is to get back to 1, because if you are Iconic, reincarnating out of Iconic requires an iconic reincarnation done at level 30+.

you should do an epic 1st then a heroic from that point . epic takes you to level 20 again then do a heroic right after. you need heart seeds for epic token and tokens of the twelve for heroic .

That is true. My previous statement was in context of wanting to go back to level 1 (presumably right away, not after having to re-level to cap again). I should have been more clear.

If I take Aasimar Scourge for one level, then go, say, Artificer for the next 19, will I still get Aasimar Scourge for Iconic TR and Ranger for Class TR, or will I have Artificer for Class TR, as it has the most levels?

The class past life will be based off which class you have the majority of levels (or the one higher on the priority list if it's a tie).

Whatever class icon shows up in your group screen is what you will get a past life in. Generally it's the class where you have the most levels. There's a priority list in case of a tie - It's alphabetical for all the original classes, and then the order of release for everything after that.

Ranger/Dark Hunter

Sorcerer/Wild Mage

Favored Soul
Artificer

Alchemist

That's the tiebreaker order in case of a tie. Highest on the list has priority. According to the Wiki, Archetypes have the same ranking on the list as their parent class. I've never tested this myself.

You would have the Scourge and Artificer past lives in your example.

This is BS. Never had to double reincarnate to get back to level 1 before.

I dont want to respec a level 20 character just so I can reincarnate to level 1

When did this system get so broken?

You don't have to do an epic before you do a racial or heroic, but it's best to. Do the ER to get those benefits and then immediately do the racial or heroic reincarnation to get those benefits. You can choose to just go straight to a racial or heroic reincarnation, bypassing the ER, but then you don't get the ER benefits.
