REINCARNATION CACHE - PLEASE ELIMINATE NEED TO WITHDRAW TO REINCARNATE.

The cache’s speed in which it loads makes it EXTREMELY painful to reincarnate. I cannot empty my cache in less than45 minutes to an hour after reincarnating.

It takes multiple minutes to even load.

Plus a ridiculous amount of time to move anything out when it’s full, and while it gets faster as you unload it, my gosh can you PRETTY PLEASE eliminate the need to empty it to reincarnate!?!?! I’m literally here 6-7 min waiting for it to load and it STILL isn’t populated.

I have limited time and it shouldn’t take 2 hours to Heroic or Racial RE.

THANK YOU!!!

This was made worse when some of the attempted anti-duping stuff was added that withdrawl timing, I'm sure there is some sleep(1) function in the code to ensure a DB write or some such nonsense.

The bigger issue is my TR cache is ONLY raid loot and minor artifacts, and some Thunderforged stuff. All crap that should be BTA so I can keep it on a mule instead of spending 5 minutes moving BTC crap I feel enticed to keep because who knows when they'll add more catalyst crafting (I do like that system)

Regarding the mules – this is also something that's super annoying. Instead of giving us more account bank space for a reasonable price, they tell us we should use "mules" to store our items, which means it's very hard to keep track of where items are stored. You also have to log characters in and out to get your items, which causes unnecessary server load on top of that. For this almost all items currently BtC should change to BtA, unless it could be abused like for the saltmarch VIP ticket.

This is why I say the goal should be to have only ONE BIG account bank and no character banks anymore – ideally with direct access to the inventory of all our characters as well. SSG could give us that level of convenience with a dedicated expansion pack focused purely on item storage and management, and call it the "Hoard of the Dragon" expansion or something like that.

They're called spreadsheets. OpenOffice by Apache works just fine, and it's open-source and free to use.

I have around 180 to 200 items in my cache usually, and it takes about 2 seconds per item so at most it is 10 minutes.

I TR at any time of day and any level of server busy-ness and Ive never seen it take more than about 3s per item unless the entire server is lagged and noone can do anything.

The hyperbole over the TR cache is actually just hilarious.

Sure, ask for changes, but dont just flat out lie. Unless you want to explain how you somehow have 500 items in your TR cache.

That "pro tip" maybe works for your playstyle – but not everyone plays that way. Just because you need fewer items doesn't mean everyone has to play like you. There are players who have to keep a lot of different items because they play many different builds on their so-called main – and for that you need tons of BTC items.

If SSG introduced account-based progression, you could have different characters for different builds, and all of them would share the same progression. That would also reduce the space demand on a single character – currently you are almost forced to play a single so-called "main."

And there is no real need for the Reincarnation Cache at all. All SSG needs to do is make a TR work like an ER or LR when it comes to inventory – just leave our Kundarak and Coin Lords bank and inventory space alone, and we wouldn't need any Reincarnation Cache. It is such a laughably small concession to the players, and removing the whole system would save us hours of unnecessary extra click work. But sadly, even some players don't seem to understand that this change would be a clear improvement, and well worth the small amount of space the Reincarnation Cache gives us in practice.

"I do something to myself which is detrimental to my enjoyment of the game for half an hour every few weeks or months and someone else needs to do something about it !!!".

To the 2nd part, yes, the purpose of the cache is pointless. Last life one of my friends had a problem with his TR cache and it was empty when he TRd. He was worried he had lost everything but he relogged and all the items were in his character bank. So an error had occurred but it ended up making things better. He was probably lucky, but this is proof that SSG could intentionally clear the TR cache into the character bank on TR if they wanted.

Of course, the big problem is if you have 200 items in your character bank, a capacity of 200 items in your character bank, and then another 200 items on your character, where do all those 200 items go, which would have previously gone to the TR cache?

I'd love if SSG would have a server-wide or account wide CSV or JSON dump we could grab. Right now I'm using mules for specific packs and level ranges for epic and legendary, at 34 character slots now I'm gonna run out at this rate.

I wonder why we assume that SSG hasn't consider all these options.
I'm pretty sure they have and have concluded that the cache stays because of reason XYZ.

Anyhow, given all arguments I think that the cache should remain at least for the inventory, pet and equipped items.

The bank space could be maintained as a QoL.
I don't think that maintaining the kundarak bank space over is important. It can be re-earned and worst case scenario you send the bank to overflow. The 20 overflow spots can't be really considered an abuse.

Well, for me, no matter what server I’ve been on since start of this game, no matter the time, 64 or 32B, no matter the computer I use (including water cooled top of the line maximum memory & top water cooled video card, 10TB machines) whether laptop or desktop, and it is HOURS to get through. 30-60 seconds per item and it slowly retreats in time as the number of items dwindles. The only “fix” is to do a keyword search or select a single category (armor, weapon, etc…) to speed it up. It is a horrific experience and yes, I often have maximum tabs and a close-to-full bank, which, IMO shouldn’t matter at all. If the bank at all other times can have that many items and NOT have performance issues, I fail to see why it’s so difficult and so slow ONLY in the TR cache. Has to be a better way.

Quite odd that you are having such an issue. I never met anyone that has it - but obviously more people may. I feel for you.

With a small cache its really fast to empty for me. With a medium sized cache it takes a bit longer - but still less than 10 mins and maybe closer to 5.

This is so far beyond what anyone else has ever said that the only logical answer is its a your setup thing not a game thing.

Id love to see a video of this next time you TR.

My friends and I TR'd the other day for an Iconic life and we were at level 15 with reaper points and enhancements and gear and everything else done (including TR cache) and questing in Gianthold in maybe 30 minutes.

That is with up to 300 items in their TR cache. I had about 180.

But an MMO should cater to every single individual player's quirks and qualms.
An MMO should be designed so that inventory management doesn't make people ragequit the game. Especially when said MMO's main grind point revolves around a highly diverse TR and toon build system with large amounts of BTC items available in-game.

They had a bug where this did it for you, prior to u80. I loved it, but people were questioning they lost items. I cannot say I noticed any items lost, after like 4 TRS. I would love the bug to return.

Given how many people have hundreds of lives Id say not many actually quit because of this.

How many people is that exactly? More importantly, why do those players matter in this context?

Obviously, the ones that stick around aren't the ones that have left due to the annoyances with TRs and various other QoL problems in this game. Those aren't who I was talking about.

When your annual revenue is in the millions, losing even 0.5% of your customer base due to QoL irritations that could be fixed/changed adds up.

DDO doesn't get a high, steady number of new customers and of the ones it does get, the long-term retention rate on those seems to be pretty low. As such, they should be doing everything they can to NOT drive off the long-term customers they do have.

If you made a list of reasons why people quit, Id say TR cache would be a fair way down the list.

My hope would be that SSG spend their time on things which cause the most player annoyance, not 15 minutes (or 60 minutes as some claim - yet never show proof) once a life.

Game balance, class balance, bugs, rare loot, yadda yadda yadda would be far bigger issues. And of course, broken monster manuals which give the excuse for SSG to at some point take them away from us after we paid for them.
