Reincarnation Trouble - Please Help

Hi, my son Epic Reincarnated. When he logs in and selects the reincarnation option (types his name, etc.), it throws him into character generation. I suspected he True Reincarnated by accident. But then, when he tries to generate the character, the system tells him the character cannot be created. I've got a 10 yo morose because he can't play. We've rebooted, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

More details would be helpful. But I'm going to assume (since this happens a bunch to folks) that he's a warlock and he's picking a different pact type (then he was before) that doesn't match his aligment; which when one does an ER (or LR) will cause an error and kick you out of the process at the end. Pick a pact type that fits the aligment and it'll go thru correctly. If not a warlock then give more details about what he's playing/choosing.

Epic Reincarnation allows you to also change your character and customize it. You can't tell which reincarnation (he) entered, but it would also inform you based on how the selection process goes. If (he) entered an epic reincarnation, it should stick to whichever class (he) started first.

Thanks - He's a Dragonborn Paladin and trying to stick with that, just go down to 20 from 34. Initial screen says "Level 34 (Pal 20)", has him in reincarnation grove, and gives the reincarnate option. I click then enter name and hit confirm. Immediately get "choose your play style". Select Melee-Paladin (preselected) - archtype Paladin. Then click mighty protector. Customize appearance. Click create. Get "your character could not be created". Listed name and surname are correct.

Was he a -1 name? Not sure if you are forced to rename after the server moves if that is the case.

You might need to pick a different name and then open a ticket to get it back https://help.standingstonegames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new If you do that, I'd record the character creation process (windows has built-in video recording capabilities), so you could submit the video proof that the name change was the result of wonk when request your old name back.

You might also try quiting the game and relaunching just to see if that helps push the process thru without needing to pick a different name,

Can you try logging the toon into the world first, then logging out and trying the reincarnation again?

I think the obvious answer is that epic reincarnation always includes lesser reincarnation, which causes you to go through creating them and doing their stats all of that stuff and then re-leveling up. It’s supposed to be a benefit that allows you to make minor changes to your character if you want but most of us just find it annoying.
At least that’s what I get from reading your original post and I read all the others and I didn’t see anything that denoted to me that something else was going on so I feel like I must be missing something or somebody would’ve said this already

I haven't done it yet, but I understand it brings you back to character set up and have to respec to level 20, so he probably has to shoose same class and race, as the one he reincarnated out of since it's not a true reincarnation

Sorry, I see the problem now. Did you verify that the alignment is lawful good because a Paladin has to be lawful good. Itcould be failing if a different alignment is chosen andI think it defaults to a different alignment than that

Just FYI, in case anyone else runs into this...if you wait too long after completing the reincarnation process, say like a few week or a month, it will revert to a Lesser Reincarnation.

I mention this because I did an Iconic Reincarnation on my main and never completed it on the log in screen. It went a month and a half and when I actually intitiated the character generation portion of the process, I though I was going through an ER by mistake. But after completing this, it took me all the way to 34 and my IR Heart was back in my inventory for me to talk and start again.

Because I had flagged a character for TR way back in November, I was alarmed by this post stating that a TR reverts to an LR.
I logged into the character yesterday, got a message to log out and log back in, which I did. The TR process then proceeded normally.

Why alarmed? I was a bit concerned because I thought I would have to go from 20-30 again, since it was iconic I needed. Turns out I did not need to. Just a bit of extra time zipping through the LR process and didn’t even lose my heart.

I don’t know why it flagged me for a LR and not you, but 100% it was a IR that converted to a LR for me. Maybe it has something to do with an update. It was a Damphir Dark Bargainer or the Iconic Reincarnation process specifically. But just wanted to toss this out there in case someone else experienced this. Turns out it was no big deal. It would have been a PITA, otherwise, since there is no way to reverse the reincarnation process after the heart is given. And I would have stuck going from 20-30 for no benefit, since that character has all EPLs.
