Repeating Artificer Build Question (based on Strimtom's New Beginner Builds)

I created an Artificer I'm playing solo based on Strimtom's Beginner Artificer Build. I'm loving it so far and I am currently approaching fourth level. This build is aimed at F2P and I am Premium having returned after a many years absence right before the server transfer deadline. His build has you take six levels of Rogue starting at fourth level. The purpose of this is to get the ability to use INT for Attack and Damage. He mentions if you have access to the Harper Agent tree you can get this same benefit for 3 APs and can remain pure Artificer which think I would prefer. I plan on becoming VIP for three months so I will have access to the Harper tree. Is there any other advantage to taking the Rogue levels that would outweigh the benefits of staying pure Artificer?

Thanks.!

You can stay pure arti. Use the harper tree. Even evasion can be got later. i play arti's a lot. My honest opinion is pure arti.
There is also inquisitive tree which is very good .
Also caster Arti while not the best spellcaster is pretty good in heroic levels chain lightning and 1 of the best spells in DDO tactical detonation .
I'm sure you will get more informed replies.
ARTI"S ROCK certainly while learning and solo. Bosses can be a problem but if you are warforged self heals no problem

Stick with pure Artificer. You don't want to delay Battle Engineer Enhancements longer than necessary; and you get INT to hit and Battle Trance from Harper Agent. INT to damage comes from Insightful Damage spell.

With the Update 76 you could use dex to hit and Insightful Damage, although battle trance, such as Harper’s Know Your Angles can add a lot later in the game.

Many prefer pure Artificer, but some builds use 2 (repeater, rune arm, rapid reload, dog), 4 (bonus feat and endless fusillade), 6 (insightful damage), or 12 (expanded clip, core 4 enhancements). You would need a lot to give up Level 6 artificer spells like reconstruction (many are toasters), deadly weapons (great for dps unless they have something else they need like +2 imbue or cold iron), and maybe the best for questing, Tactical Detonation if you get the DC high enough.

Examples of splashes : Paladin 2-3 if Bladeforged to improve saves. Could also improve saving throws.

Monk or Rogue 2 for evasion. Some interesting enhancements for sneak attacks or threat mitigation.

Monk or fighter can offer feats, as can ranger or dark Hunter.

Remember that every level not an artificers means your artificer spells dc is lower. Doesn’t mean much if just getting buffs and healing, but spells are more likely to fail or do less.

pure arti is awesome, and if that is what you want dont let anyone push into a different direction...run pure arti!!!

there are differences in splitting or not but as far as outweighing? that will be personal preference. i prefer pure arti personally, i like having more spells and i have never felt my dps was lacking at end game by sticking on the pure arti route.

If you have to ask, go pure early levels it wont matter much. if you got Thank you code - you have all quests for Harper tree (i think). I think pure is better, uncanny dodge may be interesting depending on your preferences.

Pure arti with harper tree >>> arti with rogue.

Rogue gets you early evasion, 3 imbue dice, and some sneak dice. Good but not worth loosing the capstone, lvl6 spells and DCs.

If you only do heroic 1-20 going rogue gets a lot more attractive.
