Replace making new dungeons with refreshing old

Instead of creating new packs, would it be possible to spend those resources refreshing one or two packs a year (adjusting levels, loot, etc).

So, like, instead of a new pack, could we get refreshes of some old favorites like:
1) Meridia (might work great to have quests bumped down to 9 or 10)
2) devils of shavaroth (same, move to level 20, retool weapons and rings)
3) reavers refuge (add teleport, move to level 16, refresh loot)

They need to create new systems that gets us to play more existing content. There is more than enough "real estate" in the game already. Adding more has heavy diminishing returns. Even a new expansion is like <1% more content, and it plays exactly like the previous decade of expansion.

Sadly no. DDO is all about collector's editions and patron coffers now, that's where the money comes from.

I wish they did loot updates to almost all old content

Between ignoring decades-old bugs, rushing new content full of problems (have you *seen* that monk list?), and generally refusing to help fix problems for accounts, I decided a long time ago to not give SSG any more cash until things change. Every time I'm tempted to, they release another patch that breaks something, and I'm safely reminded to put my wallet away again.

Yeah, selling collector's editions and patron coffers makes the most money for them. Problem is they have less and less reason for new players to join the game. Meanwhile, those decades-old bugs and glitches? They're happily waiting to introduce themselves and make a great first impression.

You can't sell old packs people already own.

And they don't focus on quality or player retention any more. It's just milking whales.

While the newer updates have been bug riddled, I still maintain that the game overall is way more fun than it was in 2019 - excluding gamebreaking and soulcrushing lag.

TBH I prefer new content.

I am ok with Heroic contect which currently has no Epic/ Legendary version to be tuned up

If Seal of Shan-To-Kor, Sorrowdusk Island, Tangleroot Gorge, or Threnal become Epic/Legendary, without any other updates, I will certainly play and enjoy them. The same goes for quests like Stormcleave Outpost, The Enemy Within, and The Tear of Dhakaan. However, if I can have a new quest as good as the old quests I just listed, sign me up for the new quest.

i agree. those old quests are already as good as they are, no need for major updates (like we got with catacombs, albeit that was mostly story). just take those adventures/chains, slap the epic label on them in the compendium, and be done with it.

and i would even go a step further, with an extremely unpopular opinion for which i could get banned by the association of common sense:
dont even bother with updated named items in those updated old quests. just have the quests be there as additional exp sources for those epic level ranges or as something different to do.

dont get me wrong, i love seeing a blue pop up in the endchest just as much as the next ddo player. BUT, we already have an abundance of named items everywhere. in ye olde times, not every quest rewarded some named item. when was the last time we had a new quest simply beeing a quest with no chase-item? just something to play for exp and the fun of it? not some quests on a excel spreadsheet for a checkmark because it has the potential to reward a blue belt? would also save some dev-time i would assume.

New content >>>>> revamped content. The only exception I'll make: Legendary Tower of Despair. Even then, that's only for the raid. I sure as hell don't want Legendary versions of the flagging quests. Give us something new like the prereqs for Legendary Shroud.

What is so appealing with new content?

So much no.

I want new quests, more quests, not remade old quests.

New stories, new adventures. Remaking old quests does not give us anything new.

The thing that drives a lot of the new player base away is how the game looks. I am by no means a new player, but the graphics are dated. I've stayed since 2009, for the combat. I would be for a graphic overhaul, area by area. Perhaps release one area per year to start. And, I would like to see better armour and character model looks. The painted on cloth/leather with bits and bobs sat on top is getting stale.

What drives most of the current vet player base is new content. I personally am so far behind on the end game content with so much that has been released over the past years. I haven't even touched Vecna or MD expansions yet. There is so much content to the point I skip 3/4 of quests when leveling.

Don't get me started on bugs.....

I don't think those packs need to be leveled up (nor do I want them to). I think they're fine for the level they're at.

The only changes I want are removing the flag for raids (so they'd be played more often at that level) and improving the pack loot. None of that should take too long.

Leave the quests alone; they're fine as they are.

We were already told on numerous occasions that updating an old dungeon takes as long as making a new one.

I am very bored of most good old dungeons. Bad dungeons, new or old, get skipped unless I am desperate for experience.

I want new dungeons using good old dungeons as templates for complexity and tone. By good old dungeons, I mean quests dating from 2009 and earlier, plus pen and paper modules brought to DDO, especially Against the Slave Lords, The Haunted Halls of Eveningstar, and The Temple of Elemental Evil. I personally prefer long dungeons with a lot of set piece encounters, ambush rooms, traps, secret doors, hidden passages, color commentary, monsters doing things before I arrive, and notes that explain the what is happening.
dhakaan, Shan-tor-kor and redfang can easily get an epic/legendary makeover

More new ones please... they are just getting better and better! Also, could you show us more of the process via PaxEast? It would be great to understand how the designs progress as detail is added.

Do some of the older quests need to be looked at? Yes

Your ideas are terrible though.
Because having them at 16, 17, and 19 are the ideal levels for these quests to encourage them to be played, or because you think the ToD sets as they stand are super good?
