Please consider reverting this decision made by Turbine long ago to "remove" scrolls from the venders.

Removed Scrolls from Vendors

As part of the rebalancing of spells/spell points the following spells will no longer be sold in shops in and around Stormreach. Wizards interested in learning these spells should select them while leveling up. The removed spells will still drop as treasure and at a higher rate than previously.

  • Otto's Sphere of Dancing (in that it was never added)
  • Cloudkill
  • Acid Fog
  • Wall of Fire
  • Blade Barrier
  • Glyph of Warding
  • Greater Glyph of Warding
  • Symbol of Flame
  • Symbol of Pain
  • Symbol of Weakness
  • Delayed Blast Fireball
  • Symbol of Fear
  • Symbol of Persuasion
  • Dimension Door
  • Solid Fog

Nfs scrolls except dimension door have lost all meaning in the game nowadays.

Dimension door scroll on sale would be a bad idea. It would simply become a musthave for everyone and punish people without past lives and tomes for UMD.

I don't see the point of adding those scrolls back to vendors either, except for ddoor. And imo that spell should stay limited to arcanes and bards, we don't need less reasons to play them.

Yeah agreed, none of those matter (offensive scrolls are junk without spell power and/or functional dc) except ddoor, and that one shouldn't be vendor sold because it would trivialize the opportunity cost for it

Remember Mikayl the Pious has it too if you really need access for a quest

(I think?) They’ve said that Mikayl was basically a mistake, so. I don’t see them adding a DDOOR scroll any time soon.

It would be nice if they reduced the list of "rare" scrolls.
Sure DD should not be sold, but most others would be a quality of life to sell. Also the force field of artificer might be wise to not sell. Anyhow, I'm sure SSG knows which spells really should be "rare".
And it would be nice to have vendors per class that sell all the class scrolls instead of running around to different places to get something.
Final note: scroll vendors give a small benefit to a wizard and artificer, meaning that they don't need to think what spells to learn and can access all. Make the process more expensive she problem solved.
Perhaps that vendors should be part of a library in an expansion area so not everyone get free access immediately.

it matters, add them to the ventors, currently this is a noob trap, when one does not pick them on level up one is not sure to get them. And this game has far to many noob traps.

This DDoor talk is meh. Just play human can have it from level 2, from level 23 everyone can have it just 6 EDP in shadow dancer.

Nowadays the CC scrolls dont work anyway as they dont use your DC and people want to play elite or reaper with high monster saves. dmg scrolls are meh as well as they dont use your spellpower.

Useful scrolls for in game:
Dimension door*
Teleport
Greater Teleport (so and so)
Resurrect, greater resurrect*, raise dead
Heal, mass heal
Restoration, greater restoration
Dispel, greater dispel (niche)
Radiant forcefield*
Tenser's transformation

Do I miss something?

Ps: with * are the rares

Ice storm and solid fog are useful to make a slow zone.
the rolling fire orb spell to tank monsters for some sneak gameplay
Invisible spell, if you cant yourself or cant sneak (avoids some cases of face aggro in group play)
Power word kill/stun

Not punishment for not having; it's incentive to earn.

Tbh, while there's zero value in most of those scrolls being readily available aside from to Wizards who forgot to pick one of those spells up when leveling... there's also no real value in bothering to make the change to make them ubiquitous, either. Most of them are utterly useless: using scrolls for DPS is DEFINITELY a noob trap. They MIGHT provide adequate DPS on Normal difficulty, but they definitely won't scale up to higher difficulties and anyone who has learned to depend on them will have to relearn how to play. Doesn't seem like a great idea.

I definitely wouldn't object to having the House J & P scroll vendors just carry all of the levels of scrolls. The division between them is a holdover from when DDO still conflated inconvenience with difficulty.
