Returning after 2 years!

After a LONG hiatus, I've returned to the game and WOW have things changed. It appears that no one I knew is even playing anymore so I'm more or less on my own. I'm on the Ghallanda server if anyone is interested in connecting. At this point, I'm thinking about just running one of my 14 lvl 30s back up from 0 but I can't for the life of me remember how to do that. Any advice and or contacts would be awesome!

You're thinking of true reincarnation. Since you're level 30 you would want to epic TR down to level 20 then heroic TR down to level 1. You don't have to ETR but it would be a waste not to.

Unless the character is an iconic then you would need to iconic TR.

OK, thats what I was thinking of. Thats what Ill do. How is the player base these days? Is it worth coming back or is it solo city these days? :)

I would recommend you level up to 32 before ETR, and HTR though. That way when you hit 30 next time you can automatically level to 32. Also, I think they are raising the level cap to 34, so the grind from 30 to 34 wont be as horrible.

Hmmm, thats a good idea. Im still "relearning" the character, feats, gear, and even basic communication and movement. However, all of my chars are capped at 30 (that was the cap when I took a break)

Hello again! I replied in the duplicate thread in general, so I won't repeat what I said there.

As for the player base, it's not bad, but it's not amazing either... and it is dependant on when you are online. G-Land does have some Europeans, Asians, and Aussies/Kiwis, but the grand majority are in North America. Some days are more active than others. While it's true we lost many during the mass exodus, G-Land also became the default server, so we've been seeing actually band new players entering the scene as well.

The raiding scene is also (re)growing. There are some groups that push high reaper difficulty, but they are fairly exclusive/private. LH - R1 raids do happen quite frequently though. I've had guild runs opened up to the public where there was so much interest I ended up forming 2 raid groups running concurrently (select guild officers leading one, me leading the other, communicating between groups to keep the same pace so if we need to re-balance we can easily). There have also been days when multiple guilds with have LFMs up for raids at the same time, and are able to fill.

On the flip side, there will be times when there are only a handful of LFMs up and not much is happening. Sometimes it's because not many are online, sometimes it's because a LOT of people use guilds, private channels, and discord to organize groups and stay to their own. As such, the number of LFMs active is not always the best indicator of how many people are online at that moment.

Welcome back! Ask questions, use the DDOWiki, and take your time. Sounds like a Reincarnation or two is in order, yeah.

Welcome back to your daily dose of insanity!
If you want have a look at Tyrs and if you like what you see yell.
If you dont like , yell....and start running :) there are plenty of guilds on G-land and most are pretty civilised (for a given meaning of that word ) so you should find a good fit ,and vryxnr seems a decent type so youd do worse than take a look at their guild.

A fair amount of guilds moved servers when that was free, so that may be why you're not seeing those you used to know. But while some left, many stayed, and with G-land being the default for a while now, it seems to be getting back up in population - so I'm sure you can find people to play and have fun with. Welcome back!
