Returning Player

Hi all. I've been away for a number of years -- other than transferring to the 64 bit servers. After reading some comments, I'm trying to play low level trickster as an inquisitive to start(because why not) and used a gnome racial. I thought it would automatically give me light repeating xbows based on the racial tree tool tip but I am getting an exotic weapons requirement and a -20 penalty. What am I missing?

Never mind. I just didn't phrase the search request properly for the AI. I understand now -- another nerf.

You can spend 11 points in the Mechanic tree to get proficiency with light repeaters.

Teleport to the portable hole and get a few level 1 Scroll of Master's Touch scrolls. if you can read them. take the proficiency as one of your feats.

Master's Touch scrolls don't work when you use them to cast on yourself, as the spell only works on currently equipped weapons, so it'll only work on your off-hand weapon/shield at the most, unless you get a friend to cast the spell/scroll on you.

And IIRC master's touch only works on simple/martial weapons (and all shields), but not exotic weapons like repeating xbows.
