Rosemary's Ballad (The Lost Gatekeepers) bugged?

So, I'm stuck at the door before the garden - put crests in sockets, solved "Simon says" puzzle, and door just won't open. Any ideas?

Go through the secret door in the spider room instead, opposite room from where you get the rusty scythe.

Sounds like it's bugged & needs a quest reset.

I recommend keeping the Search Item.
Even if your skill is 0, it can reach about 80, which is quite useful. In that quest, if you have Search, you can skip the puzzle, and there are many quests that become easier just by having Search.

Ran it yesterday, the door chimes worked fine for me. Seems it was fixed as promised.
