Second blade trap in Kind of a Big Deal

I'm doing my first run through this quest on EE and it seems that the second blade trap's Control Panel is a bit high for my character (gnome). I had to jump onto the lamp to get it. The trap couldn't hit me there and I could access the panel without getting the "blocked" message.

I'm not sure this is worth mentioning in the wiki (I'm don't know how into the weeds you want to go on tips etc) but just thought I'd note it for others who may be playing very short trappers.

It is not mentioned on the wiki because everyone has to stand at that lamp to disable. The height of the character has nothing to do with it.

Term is shady!!

I would not go that far. Most of the quests in that pack are Monty Python stuff, full of silly jokes. That trap is such a joke. It is a simple matter to run around it. The quest maker knows a certain kind of person will risk death for a little extra experience. It is sorta like a big light.

It is also possible to get hit by the trap while on the lamp. It's definitely a very finnicky / precise spot.

Good to know! I guess I got lucky (I was trying to stay away from the blades though, so that probably played into it).

And i guess it is also alright that you dont get a trap warning until you are already inside the firat blade traps range also “shady”!!

You literally have to stand on top of the lamp. That particular trap cannot be disabled any other way.

I am not arguing that the trap box reached by jumping on a torch is all right. It is really annoying. I am also not arguing that trap notifications that occur after being inside a trap zone are all right. That is even more really annoying. I just feel that "shady" is the wrong word for a quest creator having some fun at our expense. Anyway, my opinion really does not matter. Go ahead and "shady" away.

Sorry to come across that way your opinion does matter and every person on the forums has a view that they can call their own, so if i sounded like i was dismissing yours i would like to clearly say i heard you.

I play in a permadeath guild where we are not allowed to meta play traps, this trap has no visual cues(some traps have scorch marks or dead bodies) and the trap alarm does not trigger until you are well into the trap, by design this defeats the purpose of the basic ability of trap detection which is why i feel it is “shady” design, that is my more thorough description as to why i have this opinion on the design.
