It's an ongoing online game where classes and gear gets updated and new classes and gear gets added. Nerfs are needed to keep the balance in the game.

For this type of poll you would need much better options and not so biased on the negatives.

There Has to be Balance in the game…..Period!

This can’t always be covered in the first release of new content and the Devs would have to be beyond genius to be able to account for every single possible change to game play with the introduction of said content.

Easier for me to say, because l’m a relatively new player (2019ish?) and l can certainly feel for those who have invested so much to see that investment wither to some extent.

Having said that, the investment is in the enjoyment the game brings, not necessarily in the gear/ possessions you acquire and certainly not in the bragging rights of having the greatest toon known to man! (Hopefully anyways)

So to that end, l would hope there is a renewal every time the smoke clears and gameplay is able to continue on. ??

OP the word nerf is not the right term to use in your poll as it implies a one-sided negativity torward the developers of DDO.

Game Developers of any game should always be looking to maintain balance in the game and as such should ALWAYS make adjustments when/if that balance is not present. I can agree that it is preferable to not have to do a re-balance but in general MMOs on the level of DDO are very complex and some items may not apear until it gets pushed on a large scale.

I think that players that feel there should be no game balancing (nerfing to use your word) may not have the insight to step back and look at the game as a whole. It is never a good thing in any game if one class or race is overly dominate to a point that other player choices or types are not viable.

Define "balance" because that is the the crutch of the problem. They focus on the stuff that is working (IMO) and ignore the stuff that needs to be addressed. So they are responsible for throwing the game out of balance by ignoring the problems and "fixing" (i.e. nerf) the things that do work.

At the end of the day the game is just one big math problem. You don't have to be a genius but you do have to be competent.

Rewards are great until they arbitrarily say you shouldn't have them.

The thing is some Nerfs are definetly justified Like the Howl of winter from druid it was just utterly broken
then there are some nerfs that couldve been done better Like the caster Nerf in r10s Why didnt they simply nerf Alchemist druid and sorc by a bit
Instead Nope they also nerfed Bard/arti nukers and fvs/cleric Nukers whom werent the problem in the first place
and basically the 3 are still your go to Nukers and Bard/arti nuking feels pointless now
