As far as we know, he told the truth. He said they had no plans to bring them back, but that those plans could change if the coffers turned out to be popular. I guess they turned out to be popular. *shrug*

So some people get pissed off at things never coming back, while others get pissed off because things do come back. It's a no-win situation for SSG. I'd rather they err on the side of bringing things back so that people who missed them can get them.

I dont buy anything from the store besides space, certainly not cosmetics because there is nowhere to store them. Although there is two things i would buy from the store if they came back at a special discounted rate - i would buy the other teleport locations to be added to my sharn teleport location and i would buy any of the permanent gold hirelings/bag.

Or in this case presumably not popular enough, otherwise they wouldn't be discounting it.

as listed here, first two were introduced back later, so this is 3rd time mecha coffer was in store.

I know paying attention to store is a chore but WOOSHING over something like that is hilarious...

I'd be in favor of a compromise. The cosmetics remain exclusive and future sales break off the personal bank and shared storage and allow people to buy those at a discount after the fact. There is no harm in making the cosmetics rare and unable to be acquired later for those that want to look more unique.

I have been exceptionally consistent that these coffers might return in the future, as the videos linked above clearly show. We do not plan to make them regularly available like our weekly sales tend to rotate, as I have also said, but we also have been consistent that we are not promising exclusivity.
