Server Character Transfers and Character Slots

Dear all,

A question for the upcoming transfers.
I have characters in multiple servers. Obviously, if I transfer them all in one server I will exceed the limit of characters I can have.
What happens in this case?
I cant transfer more characters than the limit to 1 server?

We are getting in the near future a total of: 4 servers. 3 in USA and 1 in Europe.

We are going to be transferring characters from 8 servers.
I am pretty new to the game so I guess I have few characters in some servers... Perhaps I can fit...

ps: My Ghallanda characters are going to meet my Cannith characters ❤️ or should I spread different mains to different servers... good question.

You can transfer over your character limit. When you have characters over your limit it will have you select which ones you want to have unlocked. The others will be locked until you have space.

However, I do know know if there is some absolute limit on the number of characters or characters over limit you are allowed to have.

I guess you will have to choose your favourite characters and do some housecleaning. I don't know how many toons you have per account, but in the end the VIP limits will be the measure of all things. Of course, if you have bought more slots, the number of toons you can use will increase. But nobody will be able to avoid clearing up.

The talk on Fridays @ 4 is that they may be increasing the total amount of character slots.
We'll have to wait to see what they come up with, but maybe they would have overflow slots so you can pull all of your stuff over?

I have a bunch of toons that will most likely get crunched because they were mainly for DDO points on the different worlds + a little extra storage.

I'm not VIP currently and don't own MD (yet, hopefully in a couple weeks), so I can't do that. Mine is at 45 right now. (My 45 + 6 VIP + 1 VIP Loyalty + 3 MD = 55)

Thank you for the insights :-D
While searching for old characters, look what I found:

This one still had the old bank!

Obviously nothing worked, so I deleted the character :-D one less to transfer.

Yeah I just went through my list and I've got some that are the same class, same level on different servers so they'll go to the same server and I'll just transfer stuff from one to the other and then delete the stripped one.

I was worried a bit about character slot numbers, but will just spread my 8 over the 3 servers.

off (well a little on) topic but if you used a heart of wood and are ready to tr (just need to fill in your name at starting screen) will it be there when you move your toon to the new server?

I did. I have all those content with extra slots (except lamordia), and I have only 54 slots.

edit-Oh, okay, I see the problem now. I have both Shadowfell bundles, but I didn't pre-order them.
