i personally wasn't trying to grief anyone...was 90% done with a quest last time and got booted with no warning...just happy the notices actually showed on my screen this timeGood grief people. Cut them a bit of slack here.
Sure, downtime with minimal advance notice always sucks, but at least we’re seeing signs of them actively working on the lag more frequently than once every two or three weeks now.
We’ve been begging them to do something about the lag for three months now and when they finally start to show some actual signs of progress, all you can do is complain “but the game is down! I can’t play!1!1!”
I’ll gladly suffer a few extra downtimes in a month if it helps SSG really fix the lag. A couple hours here and there isn’t going to kill autos is.
This was posted in regards to Thursday's hotfix for crashing issues (that's assuming today's crashing work is similar/more of the same).Serious question - what is the crashing issue? I haven't had any issues on Shadowdale.
I am not going to cut them any slack, you give a company too much slack they take advantage of you. You need to give companies NO slack because that way it keeps them honest. I want to play on my main NOW. This is total BS they keep doing this, so yeah sorry no slack because they need to tell us WHY then and we never get told jack all. If your gonna do this tell us WHY up front. They could have just folded this fix into wednesday's maintenance, not downplaying crashes on people but I would rather not have down time more than once a week. So i am not giving them any slack.
a shame it took them over 2 months to start doing something about it. but it needs to happen.
Easily solved, move on to a different game that will have just as much downtime at different times. I have very few downtime issues, especially for a game that can easily be F2P and not needing to spend a dime in game

So it sounds like a server number gets into a state where it crashes and then quickly restarts the code; which appears as a lag spike on our end but is probably quite problematic on the backend from SSG's perspective.

Half the time, nowShadowdale and Thrane have reopened.
Nah.
If you’re going to give a company hell when they fail, you’ve also got to give them credit and goodwill when they succeed.
Positive feedback and reinforcement is just as important as negative.
Additionally, complaining at them to do something to fix a problem, then also complaining about it when they actually do something just makes you look like an arse.
It also gives them the “they’ll complain no matter what we do” excuse as an easy justification to ignore you. They already do enough of that on their own. There’s no need to give them additional justification.
