If this doesn't work it likely means they have issues with shared service calls, but it's impossible in this day and age that they don't have good metrics from their data center to reach the right conclusion.

What was the point of the "Additional Resources"? Not bashing, just the wording is so vague it's hard to interpret.

My hope (not holding my breath here...) is that the additional resources was to improve the performance of those servers to handle more players on @ the same time. With the new free code dropping, it would not be a good look if the servers were twitching on their sides.
I guess we shall see...

TL;DR - Much like your home computer has a specific hardware setup, so do the servers. They're getting extra room to add additional processing in the form of "nodes" which do the lifting work. This is a physical addition, not just a code change.

In layman's terms we use the term "resource" to mean more computing power, IE more ram allocated and more virtual CPUs (logical threads) allocated to the machine, its not really vague at all, though I guess if you don't know the terminology it might be. Not all OSes have hot add capability for adding ram and CPU so the VM needs to go offline to add that resource usually.
