shared crafting storage

What do people keep in this that they need many thousands of spaces? What am I missing? Is there some advantage to having things in this?

I use it as a dumping ground to make it easiest to transfer items to my main toon. I also keep over abundant items that won't fit in my maxed out bags. One of those is Cannith Essence. I currently have 130k+ in the bank (13 stacks plus 1 partial). This also helps when I have items on other toons that I am upgrading to epic.

you can keep all collectables from the red and green bags that are BTA but nothing BTC.
drag the bag over the shared bank when its open to crafting bank and drop it it will remain in your character backpack but the contents will empty all at once into the shared crafting bank.

also

you can store augments, filigrees, marks as well

For Cannith Crafting, tokens of 12 turn in, Mabar turn in, etc - Any toon you have can craft and it can pull directly from the shared crafting storage. Which is a great quality of life upgrade for alts.

No idea what people would use 1000s of slots for.

I use about 350 for
augments (this is the majority of it, I like to have them all in one place for searching efficiently)
event ingredients
dragonshards (they're heavy!)
cannith essences

I wish there was a bag big enough for all filigree to fit into for searching easier. They don't work well in shared crafting because the stack size is too low. Best I can do is split them across two bags, which is annoying. Augments and fili are the only things I ever really need to search for individually, everything else just pulls automatically into whatever recipe station wants it so I don't care much about sorting the rest - they can just spend eternity in whatever bag they fall into.

I use just over 200 slots permanently, up to 250 at peak. I throw all my collectables and unbound ingredients into it when I play an alt. And take what I can out and into my main's bags. Whatever doesn't fit in his bags, stays in shared crafting storage.

So by now there's a lot of Prayer Beads, Brass Censers and Whitecaps, and a few hundred k remnants. All that spillover fills 210ish slots after 18 years of clicking of everything in sight... yes. I have issues. Oh well.

Right now have 1166 out of 1795. Took all filigrees out as they only stacked up until 5 in the bank, but unlimited in a bag.

Augments, collectables, cannith essences, raid runes, eveningstar commendations, slavers ingredients, crystal discs, trap parts, empty soul vessels, essences, dino bones, dragon scales, cards, reaper frags, heart seeds, tokens of the twelve, sharn ingredients, challenge ingredients, jewelers toolkits, greensteel ingredients, lordsmarch marks, MD gems, marks of house cannith, marks of the yugoloth, marks of marky mark, mysterious remnants, mystical dried fishies, party favors, purified eberron fragments, quartermaster's chits, gianthold relics, saltmeador hay, schism shards, sentient toolkits, shadow scarabs, shavarath energy cells, shield: fragments, shreds of tapestry, siberys dragonshard fragments, soul gems, sentient sparks, star fragments, cove gems, threads of fate, thunder-forged dwarven ingots, tome: pages...and more

Do I have a problem? Or does the game have a problem?

agree. I just ended up purchasing 2 Dimensional Augment bags for all filigree. Pass to whatever toon is running and auto pick-up the fili

There is just many things to throw in the shared bank - well over 1000 items.

As others said, filigree were designed specifically to not work well with shared bank - presumably to force people into augment storage bags. Other than that shared storage works great.

I do as others mentioned - keep 1 character on 1 account with all my filigree from all accounts. One rare bag and one non-rare bag. End up deleting alot of filigree because nobody wants to buy the common ones.

Doesn't that mean you have to go get them out of the bank when you go craft something?

Crafting machines will pull ingredients directly from the shared crafting storage. People claim this can be buggy however, and may delete stacks in some edge cases. I think I encountered this myself once or twice, but have no documentation to be sure. I try to avoid using that functionality.

I've got ingredients of all flavors, including event items, toolkits, and arrows.. and several other things that aren't coming to mind.

Filigrees
Augments

You could fill 800 slots of shared storage with just those.

Antique Bronze Tokens.
Stacks and stacks of Cannith Crafting Essences
Stacks and stacks of Mysterious Remnants
Stacks and stacks of Siberys Dragonshard fragments.
ToD boot ingredients.
All 175 (or whatever it is) different collectibles that go in the red bag.
Heroic and Epic White/Black/Blue/Red/Green Dragonscales
Heroic and Epic Elf/Giant/Dragon relics from Gianthold
Heroic and Epic Slavers crafting ingredients.
Heroic and Epic Assault on Stormreach crafting marks.
Challenge run ingredients heroic and epic from Cannith and Eveningstar challenges
Mystical ingredients for dual-effect Cannith shards
Recovered trap parts
Purified Eberron Dragonshards
Adventure pack weapon ingredients (Ferrocrystals, quartermaster chits, etc)
Glamerdust
Reaper fragments
25 or so different Raid runes
Heroic and Epic small/medium/large Shroud crafting bits.
Borderlands turn in items: Ingots, feather tokens, horseshoes
Trap the Soul gems for Cannith crafting
Seasonal event items that don't expire like Crystal Cove doubloons, Festivult coins, and mimic hunt tokens

And that's not even a very complete list. Plus, the shared crafting bank frequently will hold things in stacks larger than a bag will. Raid runes only go to 2500 in a green bag, but stack to 10000 in the shared bank.

We're hoarders. I know someone who collects gems because they want to be prepared in case the devs decide they're useful for something.
For the fun of it, I have a Huge Gem Bag full with 1k of each of the 48 gems. When it got to the last 6-8 gems that need to be finished off, I went hunting for them.

(I am a collector, not a hoarder) 😛

I can do things others can't...
Usually temporary storage of filigree to move around (to filigree character holder). All collectibles and ingredients are also in mine, but the key thing is I NEVER craft pulling from the Shared Storage (anymore) - There's a known issue where under certain circumstances, the amount of collectibles or ingredients is inaccurately used up. So I always pull stuff out to craft on.

Only if I have so much I don't care about it (some stuff there simply is too much), will I leave it there to craft from. Otherwise, it's pull needed amount then craft that way.
