So since i missed this giveaway, I wonder if they plan to to release additional giveaway in a distant future or do i have to wait a year or more ?
Thanks for the info,
Cheers

Seems like a no brainer to offer a large swath of the older content free permanently. Say if an pack in more than 2 years old, free. Expansion more than 2 years old, permanently 99tp.

The content paywall I imagine turns off a lot of people looking to check out DDO.

If not for free, at least cut the price of some of the older adventure packs in half or make them in the 100 - 200 range.

So you're still training people to go to the store to buy things, but new players can pick up enough packs in their first life to make it feel like they are making good progress.

It would also probably make their lives easier for grouping... which might help with retention... which might convert more people to spending some money for QoL or expansions...

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure it's a start of the year thing now with the free adventure coupons. Maybe one day they'll bring back the starter packs, that would be cool.

They've done the free-adventure-packs giveaway three times so far, spaced roughly 12-18 months apart: first in spring / summer 2020, then in late 2021 / early 2022, and the most recent giveaway ending in April 2023. So if there is a fourth giveaway, it probably won't be until next year, presuming that pattern holds.

I wouldn't expect the pattern to mean much to be honest. They're only going to release the code if it makes sense to do so. They tied the latest code to try and catch the latest traffic from the movie release.

Which if that's true, it hints at them being more strategic with it rather than making it more of a standard event. The next D&D related thing that may happen is the Paramount+ series launch or maybe the Virtual Table Top release?

That and certain communities weren't exactly appreciative of them giving out stuff for free for some silly reason (VIP benefits) so they may be less inclined.

So we may not see a code for quite some time. We simply don't know. My advice, if you don't want to commit to VIP or buy adventure packs, aim for the newer expansions. They're the least likely to be available for deep discounts and/or free. Plus they generally have the best stuff.
