The lanterns itself when getting to a certain hardness level require you to be a certain character level. I'm at 500+ and says I need to be level 5 to keep advancing it.

To gain progress with Lantern of the Seekers:

Durability	Level Restriction
1-399:	No Restriction
400-799:	Level 5+
800-1199:	Level 10+
1200-1599:	Level 15+
1600-1899:	Level 20+
1900-2000:	Level 25+

Two things:

First, three levels over the base level of the quest you are doing will get durability on your lantern.
Second, I'm thinking the lantern level requirement is based on percentage of the lantern. We did the 750 lantern first and it looked to increase level requirement at 25%, 50 %, 75% and again at roughly 90%

I'd rate is a more pointless grind than hardcore; at least with HC I got a nicely geared capped alt and bunch mats/gear to move back to my normal server alongside the HC rewards. This event I just get the rewards and a character that's stuck on a server I don't want to play on.

I earned the sash. The server was pretty much DOA. There are barely ever any groups posted. Its seems to be busier on the normal servers than here. I am 24 now, but I don't think I can continue the slog. Its nowhere near as fun as hardcore, and you have to deal with worse lag than normal servers. Kinda ruins all the excuses of TRs, Mabar, and banks causing lag. Oh yeah, and all the silly adjustments they have done to "improve" lag over the years.
