Huh? ...I'm ...confused.

This sounds like a complaint from a pvp survival game, not ddo. Swarmed by uber players? Didn't think people used the pvp arenas in taverns except to sometimes test things.

Or do you mean enemies in quests? Were you in a group and the others had run off ahead without killing everything and those leftovers are what killed you? There are players who will slow down and make sure everything is dead and not leave party members behind. You have the power to not group with zergers you do not enjoy. Or were you solo? If so, what difficulty were you running? There are many to choose from, and picking one appropriate for ones own power is an acceptable thing to do, or was this already on the lowest settings?

Your post doesn't really let us know what happened and why you are so mad. If it is indeed that you joined some zergers and got swamped by their leftovers there are 2 options that immediately spring to mind.... firstly don't group with them again, and when you do join a group ask if they intend to zerg leaving a trail or annoyed very much alive mobs in their wake. If the answer is yes join someone else, or you can do what i did and pretend the game is a one player game for the most part. I've played as a casual player from the launch, been in the same guild since just after that (there are now only 3 of us left) and I solo all the time. I'm at the point where I can keep up and contribute healthily on my main now, except on the higher reaper levels. But I still solo because I because I can dictate the way I want to play in that particular moment. Sometimes I'll flower sniff (especially content I'm not that familiar with) and sometimes I'll race to the end like the hounds of hell are hot on my heels. And then again sometimes the hounds of hell are hot on my heels and I see a nice flower....

If it's a difficulty level thing, then just drop a level or two, no shame in that. I can solo most content on R4 or R5 fairly comfortably but I quite often do quest on Elite instead, if I'm pushed for time or just "not feeling it" today. Sometimes I'll try R6 or R7 and regret it half way through, recall and start again on a lower setting. Other times I'll get all stubborn and blow a load of cakes and spell point pots and other resources finally finish and weep over the wasted supplies. Even though I've had hundreds of cakes and spell point pots for years and only ever use any on my "pig headed" days.

If you are already playing solo, or on the lowest difficulty, and some changes have made your previous strategies ineffective.... slow down a bit. Take a little more time and work out new strategies that work for you. One of the beauties of the game is the way different strategies and builds and classes work well for different people. Most of the "elite" players of the game list (or have listed until some rebalance or another came along) Sorc, Paladin, Barbarian and Druid as the most powerful classes in the game... I can't play any of them. I'm hopeless at them all.... well if we are being strictly honest I may have made a rescent breakthrough on the Paladin front, which only goes to show that there isn't a problem with any of those classes it's me and the way I'm trying to play them.

uber players effing us casual players.

I got swarmed and died 2X. Quit on 3rd. Getting very tired of rebalances.
*** (Seriously? Acronyms are censored too? This is becoming a ******* joke. GTFOOHYSMF)? What are you even talking about? Give us some details, maybe? Who/What swarmed you? You DO know that there are difficulty settings for the quests, right?

This is a super common problem in multitude of menace. The group skips the first fight, then a new joiner gets face-stomped when they go through the first door. Probably not what happened here, but I can sympathize.

That isn't an uber player. That's just a jerk with no respect for others who happens to know a few things about the game that you don't. Like how to play fast or get thru quests quickly. They are the genuine losers.

Plenty of high-end, super skilled uber players who treat others with respect.

Sorry you've had this experience. It happens. Find other groups and look for people who care more about people than raising some number.

True enough Hob, that does happen. Can't count how many times I've zipped thru a quest, leaving mobs behind ... someone joins my pugly LFM.

"Hey, I left mobs behind ... feel free to pike at the entrance. I am almost done."

They enter. I see their health bar start dropping. Suddenly they die. Rage screeching that sounds like an asphyxiating goat begins.

"Dude, I warned you. Did you not read?"

Some people cannot be helped. I do not believe that is happening in OPs case. I also have to use my fingers to count to ten and am likely to be mistaken about OP. They wouldn't be the first, nor last, person to come to the boards and gripe about the overall behavior of people in this community.

People are gonna people.

and this goes both ways - i move pretty fast most of the time and i dont like to wait. so my lfms say zerging moving fast quest name. when i have that if you cant keep up dont join.

join groups that are comfortable for u.

if you like to zerg join zerg groups. if you dont like to zerg dont join zerg groups

seems simple.

if you join a group thats not your playstyle.....

hey guys our playstyles dont match have a good day! and move on.

Those of you who know anything about me may find this amusing: On one occasion, _I_ did this to someone.

This was years ago when I still formed groups. Two strong players joined for Servants of the Overlord. They were going quickly and skipped the Priestess optional. Ha ha! I will show these speedy guys a thing and complete the optional all by myself. And I did. I used stealth to get the shield down, assassinated the Priestess, then ran away because there was no way I could take all the monsters in that room. Almost died.

Then another guy joined.

A short time later, I hear the 'Ding" and see in chat, "What the ^$%$$!!!".

Oh no! I totally forgot to tell the new guy the situation. Completely my fault. Felt so bad, I dropped group after the quest and did not group again for months.
