So no East or West coast servers at all then? All of them are in Las Vegas.
Sounds like SSG is attempting to drive a wedge between US and EU based players by way of increased latency. Otherwise why not have an East Coast server?Las Vegas is pacific time zone so I would say it is west coast.
Because it would be fiscally irresponsible to? With the amount of sever consolidation they are doing, it makes more sense to drop the hardware in one of empty racks at one of Daybreak Game's co-los. Added bonus, you can consolidate the infrastructure team a little.Sounds like SSG is attempting to drive a wedge between US and EU based players by way of increased latency. I suspect thus is why: https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_25_831That sounds more insidious than I suspect reality is. Probably more practical from a rental/lease space rack perspective? Don't know, just a guess.
The one nice thing about having an east coast server + west is if something bad happened on one end... they wouldn't all necessarily be down in one swell foop (plus lower latency for the eastie-beasties).
I mean the entire existence of Las Vegas is an environmental crime and a testament to human stubbornness and capability of doing insane feats for let's say interesting reasons.Think about running gigantic server warehouses in a hot desert. With perpetual water shortages.
Pretty sure someone lost in the casino and was forced to make that decision.

I agree, Amsterdam is a major backbone hub, Dutch East India Company trying to re-establish control of world trade, so it is a logical choice. Vegas has to have a corporate advantage.I doubt it - I mean anyone on the east cost could test out moonsea as an option if many of their friends are moving there. I know of at least a few east coasters that are considering moonsea.
It's most likely In vegas due to cost/corporate standards or both.
Likely has to do with the relaxed consumer regulations or business taxes in Nevada.Anyone else find it interesting that they are relocating to a city in the USA that is famous for two things Gambling and the oldest profession and a city in europe that is famous for to things, a certain type of "coffee" shop and the famous light district of a certain colour!
just saying! Maybe the folks at SSG are finding their jobs super stressful and thought that moving to these particular cities would help with that!
Wow, those are some super hidden nefarious plans considering the VOC was abolished in 1799.I agree, Amsterdam is a major backbone hub, Dutch East India Company trying to re-establish control of world trade, so it is a logical choice. Vegas has to have a corporate advantage.
They have been hiding with the Illuminati, waiting for the right timeWow, those are some super hidden nefarious plans considering the VOC was abolished in 1799.
Data center costs on the east coast are double or triple that of Las Vegas and the infrastructure is often much older.Sounds like SSG is attempting to drive a wedge between US and EU based players by way of increased latency. Otherwise why not have an East Coast server?
