Solo R5 Dragonlord build

Hello, I thought I should share this build with everyone to give back to the community.
The purpose of this build is to Solo/short-man R5+ Reaper contents, which means I cannot be a pure tank or a glass cannon.
I have to find the balance between DPS and survivability. You can see this from the choices I've made in this build.

Here are a few things to keep in mind:
You can solo R5 with this build but need to bring a rez hireling for the uh-oh moments. R4 will be fast and easy.
This build doesn't use raid gears.
I have +8 tome
65 ED points
65 reaper points (Grim Barricade focused)
3x Ancient Tactic from past life for +6 Tactical DC
Human x3 (wis), Dwarf x3 (con), Half-Orc x2 (str)
This build is not fully optimized because I am still fine-tuning it.

Class: 20 Fighter - Dragon Lord

Build Rationale:

The original intent was to create the ultimate CC machine with a lot of helpless damage for R7-8 end-game content to duo with my friend. Soon after I reached lv32, I realized that I could not handle any of the bosses even if I could CC R10 mobs and chop them down very quickly. I gave up some of my tactical DC and DPS to get defence and self-healing (we do not have a healer). The DC is not as high as before, but I can still CC quite reliably in R10 if I pop Might in Order battle trance.
  • The damage comes mostly from Action Boost: Haste, Single Weapon Fighting line, Quick Cutter, Great Cleave, and Helpless damage.
  • LD (Legendary Dreadnought) tree T4 Strike with Fear and Improved Sunder for debuffing the boss. If you have enough ED points, go for T5 Sundering Swing for -75% fortification Improved Sunder.
  • My main sources of healing are Second Wind (Fighter), Guard Up (US), Primal Scream (Fury), and Renewal (US). Ranked from highest to lowest during combat.
  • Legendary Affirmation (IoD weapon) is a very important buffer at the start of a fight.
  • There are 3 CC - Dragon's Roar, Dire Charge (lay waste), and Trip. Time them right and you can keep mobs stun-locked.
  • On Reaper Enhancements, I did not pick the Dodge cap on T4 and T5. That is because my max dodge is capping my dodge cap.
  • Also, I've decided to focus on the persistent defence bonuses first rather than reaper charges. I only use the Memento on Doom Reapers.
  • I chose Dwarven Waraxe for its hand and half property. Getting attack speed from Single Weapon Fighting line, and 120% Strikethrough with Two Handed specialty feat.
This is the first time I have shared my build, and this is a work in progress. I hope this helps someone.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll do my best to answer.
If you have any insight on how I can improve my character, please feel free to let me know. Thanks!

I like balanced builds those are so much fun to play. I share my experience in some values I needed to feel safe and to operate well in r6+ content.

AC: 300+ (but definetely 250+. If you cant reach this level push your dodge as high as possible instead)
PRR: 300+
MRR: 140+
HP: 5k+ (in reaper)
Melee Power: As high as possible but aim for a 400+ (300+ base)
Doublestrike: aim for 100%
Fort bypass: 80% is enough
Attack Speed with SFW: As high as possible
Tactical CC abilities DC: 120+ (and I mention here best to have 3 different CC abilities at least for best controll)

For dino weapon I have 2 variants
  • against trash with a freezing dino augment in it. It is just awesome. Procs a lot. Makes your life easier.
  • against rednames and bosses with vulnerability and untyped damage slotted
you can check my build here there are lots of useful details for balancing your gear.

Go on and put your dream build together and have a great time with it! :)

Thank you for responding to my post.
I like your idea of having different weapons for trash and boss.

Wondering if bastard sword would also work as a hand and a half weapon choice? Getting the dino bone dwarven war axe to drop has been... tedious.

SWF is better single target DPS, but on a DL if you want a true solo build, go THF. Yeah you lose ground on overall DPS due to attack speed being insanely faster, but I was soloing most quests r6-8 on my THF DL.

Dragonroar then Adrenaline + rally with helpless usually wiped entire packs of mobs when crit 50-60k on r8.
